Blinker Problem!!!

what the hell??? I have never heard of a blinker doing this? My left blinker when blinking makes a buzzing sound (sort of like a shorting out sound) when it blinks. It sometimes speeds up the blinking. WTF? Anyone else have this annnoying problem? Is this a fire hazzard until I get it into the Ford shop?

Dont tell anyone but I used to own a chevy....

But when the blinker clicked twice as fast in the cab, it meant the light in the blinker needed to be replaced.

Hoped this helped

Ok, Thanks for the advice but I am not an idiot! haha. I know thats what all blinkers do, due to the voltage drop from a burnt out light. All my lights work.

Now you can get synthetic blinker fluid.

Sorry could not resist. But I now that when the blinker flashed quickly on my Mustang, I had a blown bulb.

I used to have that problem every now and then on the hazard lights on my '98. Makes a buzzing sound, kind of in between an electrical short and a bug right? When I fainally got annoyed enough to start tearing things apart it was a lose connection in the swith (bad switch). Maybe it's the same for you? As far as a safety hazard, never a good idea to have a bad connection, but I was lazy for about 3 months due to work and nothing bad came about.

I had this problem on my 2005 F150 and I let it go for a week or so and it stopped but later that night I noticed the taillight on the drivers side wasnt flashing when I had the blinker on. I thought the bulb went, so I took it to the dealer because it only had 2000 miles on it and they tried changing bulbs and fuses but it ended up being a short in the multifunction switch (the blinker/Hi and low beam/ widow washer handle). they had to replace it and it has been no problem since. I would recommend taking it in if you are still under warranty. Hope this helps.

If you have LED tails......DON'T go to the dealer or they will laugh at you and charge you for their trouble. That is more than likely your problem, if not be sure to put the stock bulbs in when you take it to the dealer. When I put in some LED front signals a while back (since removed because they are NOT bright enough), without the load equalizers on, the blinker wouldn't blink fast.....it would BUZZZ like super rapid blinking. Did you put a load equalizer on each bulb to compensate for the load of a bulb? If you did, then either it has came loose or it is burnt up or something. I would do some testing first. And trust me, if you put in LED turn signals and you know they are there and take it to the dealer with turn signal problems, you will be paying for it. That would be like putting water in your gas tank, taking it to the dealer and saying, "well I put water in my gas tank, and I don't know why it won't run". Just trying to save you some headache....

I do not just have the LED bulbs. I have the whole APC LED aftermarket lights. So yes they have the load equalizers i would assume.

Hmm.....I wonder if they are messing up internally. I would try to plug in your stockers real quick and see if that helps, if not then I'd go with the other thoughts on the combination switch.
