Shop installing Dynatech Longtubes

Hi there yall. I finally found a shop i trusted to install my Dynatech longtubes. They said that they installed the JBA shorties in a couple already and it averaged them around 5 hours to get them in. As a couple of yall know, I bought these from Troyer (excellent service by the way from Anita and Neil), and Neil told me that it takes around 8 hours to install these babies. I went to the shop and they quoted me 6 hours so I said what the hell and brought it over there around 11am. They started working at 11:30am. At around 5:45pm i get a call from them telling me that they will need the truck overnight and could i possibly pick it up around lunchtime tomorrow since they would be closing at 6pm. Soooo.... since they open at around 10am tomorrow and I'm suppose to pick it up at around noon to 1pm, i guess Neils initial quote of 8 hrs was freaking dead on.

PS i didnt get a chance to take pics of the headers before install but they are dead on to what the pictures on the dynatech website look like. I did buy the Stage 8 locking bolts too. I will be sure to take pics of what i can underneath the truck afterwords.

ok just got back from shop. Sound is alot deeper and throtier (sp?). But after about 20 miles of driving check engine light came on . Two codes popped so if anybody can tell me what they mean please let me know.

Codes: P2272 & P0060

If i would do it over again. Probably not. Noticed a little bit more pulling power at highway speeds but thats about it. Good to know after about 2k down the drain.

That sucks that you feel it was not worth it overall. Your the second thread that just installed or in the process of putting on the LTs and said the same thing. "If i had to do it all over again...."

You are not going to see big gains from headers anyways. There a piece of the overall puzzle though. Better sound,a touch better gas,a little snappier throttle response but not 30hp gains.

I had Bassani shorty headers,hi flo cats, and true duels on my Lightning and it sounded bada** but no significant gains.

2K ouch! You dont know how deep the water is sometimes until you jump in man.

O2 sensor heater and O2 sensor stuck lean to me looks like they didn't get one plugged back in or damaged it. Stuck lean would mean the voltage is low (0V lean - 1V rich) which means it probably isn't sending any voltage out at all (it is unpluged). Get up under there and look and see if it is all plugged in right. There are 4 of them total. One before the cats on each bank and one after the cats on each bank. As far as power gains. You probably picked up 10hp at the most on a N/A truck, which is barely enough to feel by the seat of your pants. The stock manifolds do a pretty good job on stock engine exhaust flow. They claim 30+hp on a F/I truck and I can see that being more accurate since there is a LOT more gas flowing than the stock manifolds are designed to flow, so once that restriction is taken out of the line, then a F/I engine can really breathe.

Did you check to see if your O2 sensors are installed on the new headers
(Did the new headers come with ports for the O2 sensors).
Did your shop damage the o2 sensors during disassembly or re-assembly.

Any new news.

Did those headers even come with cat's. If not thats your probrem. (No cat's means the same temp between the upstream and downstream o2sensors causing the pcm to think it is in a lean condition)
