You can get a Cummins right now if you want in the F550 and up. In Fact the last moving van I rented was a FORD with the CUMMINS.
I asked the general manager at Phil Long Ford in Denver last Saturday when Ford was going to put the V6 version of the PowerStroke in the F150, and his answer was that the 2008 F150 will come with the Cummins, so why do I want the PStroke?
There are a gazillion rumors as to this and that, but I'm figuring that if the Dealer is going to start advertising a Cummins in the F150 in 2008, he must know something from the inside.

My basis for the "contract" comment was... the last I read on other truck forums (that probably don't have much more insight than this one), Cummins could not put a Cummins in the Superduty trucks because of their contract (or the language in the contract) with Dodge. Now, I assume that has to do with a conflict of interest with trucks of the same classification - the Superduty being a Medium Duty truck? Maybe the 150 is a Light Duty? and that won't apply. I won't speak of something I don't know.
I see in 2007, you cannot get the Cummins in an F-550... at least the order guide say not.
As for Phil "advertising" this major announcement, when will this take place? Is Ford releasing this information soon so we can expect the 2007 MY F-150 to run a short run like the Superduty 250 & 350'd in 2007 MY and the new Cummins-powered F-150 to hit early this coming spring of 2008? No sarcasm involved - but I'll get in line for this. I have been driving diesel-powered Superduties for a long time, and an F-150 with a smoker is something I've wanted and hoped for for a lot longer than I can recall. Thanks for the input. It may not be in MY 2007, but it looks like it's Cummin sooner than later!
My brother’s, uncle's friends, dad is a high up at Ford and told me the next MY 08 F150 was going to have a flux Capacitor. It will get 1 million miles to the gallon and blow the competition away.
O-Wait that was a movie, but it's true.
On a side note, I did hear that Ford had a working relationship with Cummins and that there are contracts, between them. Like Dodge could use the Cummins but couldn't produce a quad cab for some time frame. Stuff like that but I also heard Ford is working on a 4.6 liter 'smoker', but I don't know if it is a V6, or inline 4 nor do I know who it is by International or Cummins.
And most of this was from the net so go figure!

I have always said that I'd be first in line to get a Ford F-150 or F-250 with a Cummins in it, so I'd better be packing my lunch and getting in line, I guess.

Just as some more fuel, read this article. It talks about Cummins in OTHER brands besides Dodge. In fact, towards the bottom it talks about a CUMMINS in none other than , ready , the F-150!
Read Carefully.
Oh yeah, and just for giggles, the guy at Ford did say it would be an Inline 6, and not a V.
Flame away.

I would hardly call that guy (whoever it is) an authority on what Ford is going to put in their future vehicle lineup. He's got nothing to do with Ford or Cummins either one...

Ya, he's just an industry analyst. You probably know way more than he does.
There is going to be a new lightning with a twin turbo isuzu diesel for a powerplant.
The rumour that the cummins is going into a ford has been around for a very long time and probably will be around for even longer.

I've provided three sources that are optimistic about the Cummins/F150 possibility. They aren't what I'd call rock solid, but two of them are press, and one is a Ford manager. If Cummins was under any contract forbidding them to sell to Ford, they would quash the rumor. The obvious opinion circulating is that many Ford owners, including myself, would jump on a Ford with the Cummins option after all the problems with the 6.0 PS.
Meanwhile, nobody here has shown me any valid reasons why it couldn't happen. It's easier for you to doubt and flame instead of show some documentation or statements to the contrary.
Show some documentation, and I'll jump off the Cummins wagon, and be down on others with hope just like the rest of you.
