More questions after my cluster swap and programing

Earlier this week I installed an XLT cluster in my 05 XL. Took it to one dealer to have the "As Built" data programmed, but the dealer didn't know how to do it. This morning, took it to another dealer where they said they could do it. They had it back in the shop for an hour and said it was done.

I am wondering if they did anything.

I still do not have the key in ignition buzzer, no interior lights with door open, a series of dashes and the F for the temp readout still appear.

Shouldn't all these things now work, and the extra characters on the display disappear?

They did not do it. All the key in stuff is routed through the panel, which is why they don't work. The PATS system is also routed through there. If your dome light is not triggering they did not program it.
You need to talk to the boss there. Sorry you are having so much trouble with what should be a simple swap.

Although this and the cost is why I no longer recommend this swap. I just suggest getting a tach or a ScanGauge or Edge instead. Too bad, when the clusters were cheap this was an elegant economical mod.

I am kinda pissed about them charging me for the work, but not doing it. The good news is, I am on my way out of town on a week-end golf trip with the same dealership's General Manager. I hope he will get it straight for me.

They did not configure mine properly the first time, I brought it back and the fixed it without any charge. it should be the same way in your case...
