hey guys,
anybody on here use the ford factory towing airbags. they are 150 installed and can support ALOT of weight. i dont pull stuff that often, but with my truck leveled out and 35s on there, it will look horrible and ride horrible and these i thought would be a good compromise. anyway, tell me what you think

 

Can you tell me more about these Ford airbags? I have been thinking about getting some airbags to tow my camper with, since my truck sits level without a load on it. And that seems like an awefully good price. Is that Ford installing them? Or a personal mechanic? Are they just support bags, or do they inflate? Thanks man.

I have the front leveling kit and haul my 4 wheeler and pull heavy trailers a lot. Adding the airbags keeps the trucks bumper off the ground and the front from nosing up when I do this. They are easy to install about 2 hours, alone, & no air tools. Had to open up the brackets a little with a sledge hammer to fit around the frame rails but I am very satisfied with their function. I don't have the air compressor I just put in a T fitting and put both airbags to one valvle stem near the license plate. When not hauling keep 2-3 lbs of air so the ride is not rough. Just try not to lift the truck from the frame much and if you do deflate the bags completely.

 

I had the Firestone bags on my '01 because my little tent trailer and a bed load of camping supplies was enough to drop the rear quite a bit. The air bags were pretty easy to install (had to drill the frame, newer versions are no-drill, I understand) and kept the ride level. Never experienced any harshness at all.
