Cool pull man glad to see these fords pulling more than there weight once and a while. From some of those picks that coke truck doesn't look like it's stuck. In the one picture you can see the rear passenger side tires and they don't look buried. Maybe it's just the angle of the pic.

Yeah, we were less than 100 yards from the SunGlow (Port Orange) pier. You can only drive one mile south of that pier now. AND you cannot drive under the Daytona pier at all anymore!!! They've seriously restricted the driving space in Daytona. It's good in a way, but I loved being able to cruise from the inlet to SR-40 (Ormond Beach).

Well weaseled, I'm impressed. I tried to pull out a stuck tow truck, I used to have the photos in my gallery (he was stuck in a ditch pretty bad). Well, that was until the chp arrived. Talk about jerks, it was Christmas night and they were giving him hell for getting his own truck stuck. He ended up with a $400 bill or something, I posted about it. I let the driver in my truck for the entire 4 hours so he could have some cover for the rain and a person to talk to. I could have strangled that young cop for him...idiots with a badge I tell ya. I'm sure you had to yank if he was stuck, but how hard? Is that the pics when they were stuck? Either way, great story.
These trucks are pretty impressive. I had to pull out an explorer that went into a 3 feet deep ditch. And like you said before there was a chevy guy there just complaining and wouldn't help, so I took care of it. I was really surprised when I hooked up to it and started taking the slack out of the strap and waiting for the wait of the explorer to show and I started thinking that the strap broke because I never felt it, but when I looked back I just about had it out of the ditch and I didn't even feel it. I know it is nothing like your pull but I thought I would have felt something and then truck just pulled and never felt it. I love these trucks.

I know for me on a recent trip to Moab, UT with my dads 97 F150 (did not have mine then) on a acess road that was steep and narrow heading back up from the Hurrah Pass trail that we did in the truck, we came across one of the sharp turns their was a young lady drivin a stick shift jeep in the group of two and from what I was told she poped the clutch and it jumped to the right on her and almost sent her down a 300' drop into the rocks.
The sencond jeep was to light to pull the jeep and the one that was hanging almost off the edge was older with out fuel injection and they could not get it to fire. Well when we came around the corner I asked if they wanted help (girls were scared and crying) and they said please they had been trying for a hour and cound not get it out. I pulled up to the jeep and the guy hooked on to the front tow hooks, the other jeep said he would hook on to my rear for a ancor.
Stuck it in four low left off the break and just touched the gas and it started to pull the jeep back, I stoped because the guy had to strighten the tires out over the big rocks and he said to hold up a min. Mean while I was waiting and my wife said to look in the mirror, the jeep behind me did not see my break lights I guess and was spinning all four trying to pull me, ha I did not even know it. Anyway pulled him out and he thanked me and we all went on our safe ways.

I actually didn't yank on either one of them. Even with a 30' 30,000 pound strap I was afraid the weight of them would have snaped the strap & caused damage to something. I pulled in at an angle so I was on hard packed sand, tightened up and went at it. The tow truck driver helped drive both trucks out...
Earlier in the day I did hook up to a smaller RV type thing. As I was hooking up to it Beach Patrol drove up to help. I yanked pretty hard with my 20' 20k pound strap and the Beach Patrol said it looked like it was about to snap. (I was pulling from the rear.) The Beach Patrol pulled out what looked like a 1" nylon nope with a hook on one end & a loop on the other. We put the hook on the RV's front straight axle, and the loop around a hook reese receiver I have. On that I yanked with about 5' of slack between us, and the recoil of the rope just pulled the RV out smoothly. I want to replace the hook receiver I have with either a receiver with a shackle or a pentle -- so the rope doesn't come off when I back up. Although the pentles have the cooler look to them, the shackle would be cheaper.
There was an older Bronco out there that had a winch mounted to its front bumper pulling people out. It was nice to see how smooth that thing was pulling. Although it would take me forever to make my money back on it I'm seriously considering the Warn hidden setup. They're $1,200 from 4wheelparts, and I have a 10% coupon. The only two problems I see with it is it only has a 50' lead, and it's only rated at 9k pounds. For what I'd be using it for 50' is more than enough, and I don't think I'd exceed it's 9k # capacity.
