Showed some people how tuff a Ford really is today...
As some of you may have read, while cruising the beach I pull a ton of people out. Today was no different. I went down, had a good time and decided to take a drive. After pulling out a little Ranger sized truck, a Sebring and a small SUV type thing I parked to watch a tow truck try to pull out a Coke truck...
The tow trucks rear end was buried, and the bar they use to lift cars was DEEP under the sand. He was trying to pull the Coke truck out with two cables streatched out... He got to a point where when he'd tension the cables the Coke truck would just pull the tow truck backwards.
I walked up and asked if he'd like me to TRY and anchor his front end. I planned on tieing off to his front, and hoped the weight of both trucks would allow him to pull the Coke to harder sand. As I walked to my truck the tow truck driver unhooked from the Coke truck and motioned for me to go forward. I went with it, and gave it heck. 4LO, exhaust roaring & sand flying everywhere. Somehow I managed to get the tow truck free. The first thing the driver said is, "You know you just pulled a 20,000 truck out, right?" I couldn't believe it, and either could the crowd that had been gathering for the previous 30 minutes...
The tow truck lined back up on firmer ground, and I once again anchored his front end. This time his cables got to a point where they wouldn't budge the Coke truck... he'd tension, and it would just pull the tow truck DOWN. He unhooked and asked how confident I was in my truck. I told him, "Not confident to hook up to a Coke truck..." and he talked me into it. He pulled the tow truck down the beach a ways I doubled up my 30' 30,000# strap, and off we went. With the tow truck driver in the Coke truck, and me giving it pure hell in the F150 everyone was on their way home
Out of the deal I got a free case of 20oz Sprites & a IOU from a tow truck company! I have a couple of pictures if anyone would care to tell me how to post them. They're not that good, but at least they show the size of what I was dealing with.

That is frickin awsome!!! nice job!! its gotta be that blue ovalto post pics you have to have the pics uploaded to the internet. It is easiest to put it in your gallery. once it is in your gallery, look in your gallery and click on they picture you want. Then right click on the picture and go to properties and copy the address of the pic (should end in .jpeg or .gif or another picture format). Then when you make a post, click on the little picture icon at the top of the text box and paste the address in there. It should work.

The best thing I can teach you about posting pics is to go to www.tinypic.com - use the browse button to go to the pic you want uploaded, then hit the "Host It" button.
At the bottom right of the screen you will see a bunch of boxes with links to the file you just uploaded.
Highlight the entire line where it says IMG, right click to copy. Come back in here, reply to a post like you normally would, then right click and paste in the text box, type whatever info you want besides pasting the picture, hit Submit and WALLA - Pic will be posted!

Like I said before, I wish I would have remembered I had my camera in the beginning of this mess. I usually don't, but I brought it for some Mystery Shops I did eariler in the day...
It's hard to see in these small pictures, but in the top one you can sorta see the ruts from pulling the tow truck out. They're on the passenger side & in front of my truck...
In the middle & bottom pics you can see where the lift thing on the tow truck was dug into the dirt.
I think the best part was we had a heckler... about 20 yards in front of my truck was a new Chevy 2500. He was laughing at the tow truck driver from the minute I pulled up. As soon as I pulled over to offer help he started in on me too. While pulling the tow truck out my truck started hoping pretty bad. Big deal, it does it when I pull big things out... the only thing he could say to me was, "You're going to break an axle like that." My response, "That's okay... I'm covered under warrantee for another 60,000 miles."
When I hooked to the Coke truck he just pointed & laughed... he yelled, "what do you think that little truck is going to do?!" The tow truck driver asked if he'd like to make a cash bet on the deal, and the guy backed down... I thought I heard $200...

I've been thinking about what to do to my truck next. To be honest I'm not sure I want to mess with anything now.
1) Tires - my tires are not that much larger than stock... I've been stuck once, and it was MY fault.
2) Stance - I love the look of the truck now that it's leveled out. It sits almost dead even... this is how Ford should have made them.
3) Power - I thought I wanted a blower. There are two things holding me back now: fuel & the Edge. Fuel is $3.20 for 93 octane here, and I'm very happy with the way my truck feels on Level 2.
I'm thinking I'd like to look more into the hidden Warn winch (I spelled it right that time!) setup, and possibly wider rims. I just need to decide if I want to stick with 18's or go up to 20's. I'm thinking 18's since I don't plan on lifting... I'd like to see how a set of 18x10's would look with the various backspacings avail..

I'll never forget the time my S-10 club cruised Daytona beach south of the pier after Truxpo at the speedway. My S-10 is a lowered 2wd, so I was not having an easy time even in the "cruising lane". Anyhow, I got kind of stuck every time traffic stopped, but I was able to ease it out at 1/4 throttle probably throwing a little sand (at my clubmate behind me). Next thing I know some beach vendor comes running up to the truck telling me to slow down. I yelled "I was stuck" to him and gave him the bird. I wasn't moving more than an idle pace. What a moron.
