Squeeeeeeky Brakes!

My truck has the loudest brakes I have ever heard. I brought it to the Ford dealership and they said my pads and rotors look like new, but the squeek is so loud it's embarrassing. Have you guys had this problem and what brake pads would you recommend to fix the problem?...I see an early pad change in my future.

I have had Akebono ProAct pads for about 5000 miles now. They are powerful, quiet, and no dust. Get 'em at Tire Rack. http://www.akebonobrakes.com/afterma...ads/index.html

My rear brakes squeaked pretty bad when I first bought mine. Mileage and wear has helped it some but I still get a light squeal under certain conditions. The rear pads seem to wear out pretty fast on these trucks, I've got just under 20,000 miles on my truck and the rear pads need to be replaced (I'll probably tackle this project in a week or two ).

Which Hawk pads? I put the Hawk HPS on in the fall and the truck was good for about a month then it started up again and is actually worse now. Still a lot of brakedust too.

do a search guys...lots of threads on what type of pads to get.

Porterfields have been working pretty good for us. With any pad, you still have a chance of a slight squeek.
