Should I trade my 04 for an 06 Harley?

I parked next to one in the mall parking lot yesterday and man that thing is gorgeous, which got me to thinking.

The Harley and my truck are both Supercabs, so I could keep my bedrug and ARE lid. And I would def swap out my Nav and sound system.

I am not too far into my loan, so what do you think? If I go the Harley, I wouldnt have to worry about wheels or grilles, or headlights or taillights. The only thing left I wanted to do to my truck is wheels really and the Harley takes care of that.

Plus looking around the forums, the Harleys hold their values sooooo well!!

Thoughts?

The Harley's are definitely nice trucks!

Just remember that you'll be getting mediocre (at best) trade-in value for your current truck, and probably very little discount on the new truck since it's a Harley. The economics may or may not work out for you depending on how far "upside down" you are on your loan.

But aren't your truck and the Harley different colors? A silver lid on a black truck would stand out like a sore thumb. You could probably come out ahead if you added the Harley parts you wanted to your truck, instead of getting a new truck. Just my two pennies.

Yea, I'm kinda afraid that they won't budge much on price. But I did see a dealer in Texas sell one on ebay for $31K, so maybe I can use that to bargain. $31K is def doable.

As for the lid, I would get it repainted (repainting is alot cheaper than buying a new one).

It actually looks like trade in will cover what I owe, so I am not really upside down.

I say go for it.... I just traded in my '05 scab for and '06 screw and didn't have any troubles at all.

I would want to keep roughly the same monthly payments. The dealership just called me and they are getting close. About $50 per month higher than what I want to pay. Once they get that close, I know they can do the other $50, its just watching them squirm. It would be SO sweet!!!

Wish me luck guys.

The harleys are really nice. All you are really paying for is the updated stuff that says harley. Personally i wouldnt do it. I would if it were supercharged =) But I hope you get a deal that works for you

Sounds like you and I are one and the same more truck for the same cash. It can be done thats for sure..... I was able to get my new FX4 Screw for a lower sticker than what I paid for my '05 scab. My payments went up just alittle but nothing that I'm uncomfortable with.

My suggestion is to just tell them exactly what you want and if they can't do it you'll go somewhere that can. I drove 300 miles for my deal cuz my local dealer was yankin my chain too much. Good luck.

This is pretty crazy, i too just looked at an 06 Harley. Man it was sweet. I talked numbers and they were asking $37980 with a list price of 41,835. The price on the truck was as is, no haggle. They offered me 26,500 on my truck and my payments would go up like 20 bucks a month. But i didnt haggle on the price so im sure i could have gotten it down lower. I need a truck i can use for work. Now if it was supercharged, i think id be outside cleaning it right now.

I was going to say to wait until the supercrew comes out, but you have items that won't fit the new supercrew. I looked at the 4x4 switch in a photo and it had an option for AWD. They have awd now? What about 4wd, can you get a harley w/4wd?

Yea, keeping my bedrug and ARE lid def mean alot. A Screw would be nice, but not necessary.

As far as I know the Harley comes in 2WD and AWD (no 4WD). I am looking at the 2WD since I have never used my 4WD in my truck, and it knocks another $7000 or so off the sticker.

If this doesnt work then I might do what Josiah said and wait for the Screw.

The Harleys are SWEET but I am going to wait until next year for the Scew...then I will be all over it like stink on a monkey! I will probably have the first HD Screw on 26s!

One question to anybody thats been to any of the autoshows (Chicago, LA and so on)...are the HD Screws on display yet? I am going to the one in Atlanta next week and would love to see one. The had the HS Scab there last year.

The SCab's won't hold their value when the supercharged supercrew harley's come out.
