When i went to the Lightning guys gettogther down at Temple, TX, there was Screw there that was done up like a HD. I think it may have been Trilogy Superchargers truck. That thing sure looked sweet.

Once again, you make a great point Duke! I know the Supercharged Harleys from a few years ago barely depreciated. So it might make sense to keep my truck another year or so, and then go for the S/C SCrew.

Good good point my man. Cause then I will be right back to where I am now. Cause right now I feel like my truck is one of the baddest on the road. The only other one I want is the Harley. But then if I get the SCab, I will want the Supercharged SCrew.

You guys saved me alot of time and hassle. It will still be hard to resist. But now I have a goal to save for.

The only problem is I have have heard NOTHING about a SCed Screw...just a Screw. The thing is the SC HD were feasable back a few years ago because they pretty much just used exisiting L parts. Without an L to get the parts from SCing a few HDs really doesn't seem that feasable for Ford to do...IMO. So waiting on a SC version might take a while....the 07 Screws certainly wont be SCed.

Now if someone knows different thats great...I am just speaking from what I have heard.

The salesman that worked with me told me they expected the lightning to come back in 08 or 09. He said he had just gotten info on all the future of ford. It was just his guess that the L would be back. He pry didnt know what he was talking about. I should try to get a copy of what is going to change...

I am not too far into my loan, so what do you think? If I go the Harley, I wouldnt have to worry about wheels or grilles, or headlights or taillights. The only thing left I wanted to do to my truck is wheels really and the Harley takes care of that.

Plus looking around the forums, the Harleys hold their values sooooo well!!

Thoughts?
i had a 2000 harley... I really like the new Scab harley... but i dont know if i would count on it holding its value any better than anything else.

Also... if they follow the same pattern they did last time this will be the only year for the scab.. then they will go crew in yr2 and then they will keep adding things every year... hopefully a supercharger at some point.

So if you like the scab and arent going to get buyers remorse when they start adding things to it the next year, i say go for it.

Didn't Ford actually scrap the SVT division recently (I think I read that in Car & Driver or Motortrend)? I know the GT500 will be sold by all Ford dealers and will not be badged SVT in anyway...the L is dead and I think the SVT Focus is too. So pretty much no more SVT, and with no SVT and fuel and premium fuel at $3+ a gallon I can't see much future prospects for the return of the L. And to be perfectly honest I think the Ram SRT-10 is what killed the plans for a new body style L...they would really have to do more than just SC it to make it faster the SRT and if its not faster than why build it? On the other hand with the SCed 5.4L 3V in the GT500 it probably wouldn't be hard to move into the truck platform. But at the very least your looking for it to be at least 2 and more likely 3 years before a SCed HD Screw...if ever. So if you want a HD don't waite for a SC one that may never come. By that time this body style will be 6 years old and about time for a change anyway.

I should have never looked at this thread again. Now you all have me thinking. How much was the price differene between a normal harley and the supercharged harley?

I think I figured out what I want to do - I talked to this guy at the dealership told him what I have, wha the sticker was, and what I got my monthly payments to. I said, if you can get me that same deal on the Harley, then I will come in and talk.

If they can't make me a deal, then I will make my own Harley conversion.

Gosh darn it I need to find the article I read about this. It was about a month ago.

It spoke of plans to have the supercrew HD in 07 and supercharge it in 07 or 08.

Hmm, I'll look for it today.

So exciting! I have a really good conversation going on with a dealer (the same one I bought my 04 from) and I think they will be able to get me the deal I want.

So here is a quick question....let's say I go in and make the deal. I will still need a day with my truck to remove the Nav, subs, speakers etc. I WILL NOT sell the truck with those things in it. So is it possible to make the deal, and then not pick my truck up for another week? My installer said he could get to it next Saturday.

How would this work?

Ask the sales man. Im sure he would understand. But hey i sent you a PM about the audiophile sytem in the harley. Im guessing it has it. At least the ones ive looked at have. Soo if you wanted to get rid of it since your putting your own system in let me know. I want a bit more bass but dont feel like putting a system in. Good luck!

I actually dont think the harleys look THAT great. If they had slightly larger rims and it wasnt so long it would look better. and if it was lowered. It has a 4x4 stance. but they are alright. other than that, Id say go for it . I dont think anyone has one on here

You think the HD needs "slightly larger rims"? Dude its got 22s on it. If anything maybe a 45 sidewall.
I do agree that it sits to high. I think that truck would look better leveled off and dropped.
I like that it comes with pretty much all your feel good interior options but almost everything in there is black as far as trim. Fingerprint central man.
Overall I would get it, drop it, and Whipple it

Well, I got a call back from the dealer simply saying, "Uh, yea, we can't give you that deal." I know they can, but it would take me near a whole day of sitting at the dealership to get it there, and that's not worth it really.

So I think instead of losing all the money I have already paid down on my truck, I will just invest a few extra thousand and get something even better than the Harley!
