Weird Sighting
Maker's Mark is the only hand-made whiskey in the world. In my opinion, it is the best on the shelf. I have my name on a barrel of it out there some where. The quality of their product greatly contributed to the gradual deterioration of my first marriage.
Thank you Maker's Mark.
p.s. Maker's mark did to my first marriage what this forum is doing to my second!

Mmm... you sure about that? And what exactly defines a "hand made" bourbon.
You non-Kentucky boys need to get your nomenclature right if you're talking about the fine KY spirits.
Do not buy into the tourist hype. MM just puts whisky in the name so the rest of the country knows what type of liquor it is.
They definitely have the market cornered on the "small batch" marketing.Bourbon only comes from KY... whisky can come from anywhere.... like that fruity Jack Daniels woman's stuff you get from Tennessee...
Now Maker's is good.. but you boys need to find yourselves some Woodford Reserve and get back with me on the taste..
And you don't cut good KY bourbon with ANYTHING (except maybe a little spring water for you frail types).
**** Creek is pretty good also but isn't quite as smooth as the above two. If you really want to experience the ultimate bourbon, find yourselves some Booker's. Bottled uncut and unblended... straight from the barrel. I believe it is the only bourbon that exists that is bottled that way. It is most definitely not for the faint of heart..
Each bottle comes with a hand printed proof on it because every barrel is different.

This thread has definitely taken a weird turn... sorry, I guess I was driving when we turned.
As for BOURBON (not whiskey -- BIG difference)... RARE BREED (Wild Turkey) is one of my favorites... I developed a taste for it when we were doing copious amounts of permitting work for them about 5 years ago... it seems like, after every 'on-site' project day was complete, the plant enginner would emerge from his office packing a big box -- long story short, everyone involved would go home with a bottle (or three).
Talk about one heck of a neat place to do work -- very primitive and classy. The people that worked there had worked there since they were concieved in their mom's woom... if you came to work there, you retired there... it's that simple. Loyalty was HUGE.
Weren't we talking about Southern Comfort conversion TRUCKS or something?

Rare Breed is a "barrel-proof bourbon," meaning it is bottled directly from a variety of barrels at the proof it reaches in those barrels, with no added water to lower the proof or dilute the flavor.
It's just not cut with water or something else to lower the proof down to an average. I have partaken in a bit of rare bird sampling myself.
The liquid in a bottle of Bookers came from one barrel and never mingles with the liquid from another. They have to hand test the proof of each barrel and mark the bottles accordingly. It's quite a bit stronger than what I care to drink myself... but for someone looking for the ultimate bourbon purity and small batch.. that's about as good as it gets unless you have a private "home" source.

Man, I had to go back and edit my grammar in my first post... sounded like I had been hitting the juice a little when I typed that.

Southern Comfort Edition? Is that like the Chevy S10 Zima edition?
