Predator Diablosport Question

Gentlemen, I have much about the Edge and the Xcal2. But not much about the Predator Diablosport. What gives?

Is this tuner not that reliable? I want to make a good decision, but would like feedback from someone who actually owns a Predator.

Thank you and keep on trucking!!

The DP is a good tuner. I have one. I have also owned the Superchips for my truck.
The DP requires a fraction more thought to use to its best advantage.
Not a lot more thought, just a fraction.

My wife has used it without any instruction, so it is not too technical for most people.
She didn't even read the manual...

She did however run the shift up too much. The DP does not change the shift point or pressure unless you set them.
Thus it feels sloppy if you are used to Superchips-Edge, etc.
So she tuned it, then didn't like the shift, so she retuned it, and jacked the shift up to maximum on all gears...
I drove it the next day and promptly put the shifts back to 80. the setings go from 0, that is stock shift, to plus 200, which is ridiculous.
At 80 it feels pretty good.

I have used both the SC and the DP with all three non modified tunes that come with them. I think the DP is slightly better on power than the SC.
The DP lets you set a lot more stuff than the SC.
The DP is online upgradeable. Like the Edge, unlike the SC. That means that if the dealer messes with your PCM, you do not have to send the tuner back to DP, you can just download and install the updates.

The SC I had to return to SC when they flashed my PCM. That is why I sold it. Didn't want to send it to Florida and pay plus wait for them to send it back.
Overall, they are all good tuners, everyone of them. The Edge looks nice mounted on the dash, plus it gives you more gauges. Since I have a ScanGauge already, I am staying with the DP.

I have one. I really like it. The 87 octane tune is the best for me.

I have one too. Using performance tune right now. I mainly got it to adjust for bigger tires. I am very happy with it. Good performance out of it. Going to 87 tune next tank as 91 Octane in Claifornia is $3.25 now.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. The reason being is that it was recommended by Willie Figueroa (Tuner at large), but again he is the one that wrote most of the tunes for the Predator and so many people use the Edge & the Xcal2. I was just looking for a true unbiased opinion. And now I have it. Will be purchasing one this weekend.

Thanks again.

I had a predator, sold it though after getting my edge mainly cause I wanted the guage features for towing my holiday trailer. After trying both though, the gains using the edge were much more noticable than the predator, the edge seemed to have alot more throttle reponse and made the truck feel alot more nimble when driving around town.
