Truck preparing for tear down!

Well I started a thread about a week ago and brought my truck to the dealership to get a few things checked out. When I start my truck after it sat for a few days while the motor was turning over there was a loud grinding-like noise just until the motor started. Then the motor was knocking. And the last issue that I'm having them look at is when I accelerate there is a hesitation from the time I step on the gas to the time the motor responses. Probably like a second sometimes. I know that the throttle is electronically driven but it shouldn't have such a delay.

I was contacted friday and the tech working on my truck said that he heard the knock in the motor and didn't know what was causing it yet. He also said that he will look into the other concerns. He then stated that today will be the day that he starts doing a tear down of the motor to find the knock. Oh Boy. I hope they fix the problem!

WOW that really sucks, hopefully they can fix it in a timely manner. I know all too well about having brand new vehicles in for service.

My father in law had a knock in his motor too and he needed a whole new motor. Was your check engine light on at all.

No my check engine light was never on. I noticed the knock one day I was pulling into my garage. It was not very loud but is noticeable(the tech heard it thank god). I think it's fixable probably just the cam phaser. I took my auto stethescope to the top of right bank and it sounded stronger toward the front of the engine. So hopefully i will hear something today.
