Installed Infinity Kappa Components Today

I ordered two pairs of Infinity Kappa 680.7cs component 5x7's off of ebay last weekend. To my supride they showed up yesterday! (fastest ebay shipping ever!!) I got the front doors installed tonight. Everything else in my stereo system is bone stock... and isnt even audiophine. These components were a 100% improvement over stock. I read alot of posts where people said not to bother with components unless you are going to run a bigger amp. I have to disagree with that. The bass response is WAYYY better and the highs sound incredible. It doesnt get very loud because the stock amp is so weak... but the Sound Quality is MUCH better.

Now i need to decide how to install the components in the rear. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. Pictures would be awesome too!

I installed the Infinity 6x8 components, Reference. I had them in the car for about a week before I put my amps in, and the difference between these and stock was huge. This was running off an aftermarket deck... Congrats!

Here is where I got them

They sound awesome and are really easy to install in the stock location. It only took me about 15 minutes a side.

How much diffrence was there between the deck powering them and the amp? Everyone says you really need an amp, but i have always used my aftermarket decks to power components... and have usually been totally satisfied. But maybe I just need to hear what I am missing.

At moderate volume levels is there a noticeable diffrence?

Still looking for some Ideas for mounting the tweeters in the rear doors!

Im running these speakers in my truck all around. If you have the same ones I have, they run on 2ohms. Im running a JL Audio 1000watt 6 channel amp for the all mids. On a stock deck or deck power only, they definately wont sound like what they are supposed to.

Honestly...I like the sound of them and they are crisp...cant complain for the price I got it for. Ive had many systems and this one seems to be in the mid range as far as sound quality. Amping the mids, you will definately here a difference. Running off deck power with 2 ohm speakers wont do it. I mean, it will make noise and might sound decent, but if you know what they really sound like...AMP IT!!!

You dont need a 1000 watt amp...just some 4 Channel to power it up. Make sure (if you have the 2ohm ones), that you get an amp that can handle those speakers at 2 ohms.

I do have the 2 ohm ones...

They sound awesome to me even with the stock deck... But i guess that is in comparison to the stock system...

So... next question... what is the best amp for the buck? Im not looking to go super loud... just good SQ.

Still looking for some pictures of rear tweet install...

If you're on a tight budget. . just get a Hifonics amp. Im running the ZX440.4 and along with my Infinity Refrence components and coaxles in the back, it'll make your ears bleed. I know people will say Hifonics stuff is garbage, but from my experience I've never had or seen a bad Hifonics amp. Just keep in mind they do over-rate their amps.

Well, the speakers are essentially going to determine the SQ of your set-up. The amp is just going to amplify the whole set-up and give you more clarity and much more sound. If you're not on any type of budget, check out Zapco.

Im a JL Audio person...but yeah, Zapco and Hifonics would work. Make sure its a 2ohm amp too...

If you like that sound with a stock deck, its times ten with an amp

Best bang for the buck amps? I would look at Elemental Designs Nine.4 and Memphis amps. Both put out good clean power and are not a lot of money.
