Buy 06' now or wait for 07'??
I saw an 06' red Screw last night with the new 20" rims, black leather, FX4 luxury pkg. to include heated leather seats, sunroof, power slider, etc.. Anyway, I had to wipe the spit from running down my chin. I am seriously thinking about buying it. So, should I get it or wait for the 07' models which may have 5 speed trannys and a better AC condensor, etc..??
If you don't absolutely need a new truck right now, I'd be inclined to wait until early this summer. When you hit that "tweener" period for the 06's and 07's you'll get some pretty sweet deals on the '06's that are around.
If you know exactly how you want your truck set up, start looking in late-May to early-June and you should still find what you want in inventory (unless you're looking for an odd-ball truck like mine -- I had to special order) and will nab the great financing and rebates that are usually around at that time of year!
From what I've seen, there's not a huge amount of difference between the '06's and '07's (a few colors, an updated A/C Compressor, etc.) so it's not like you'll be ending up with an old body style truck or anything like that.

Well, actually there is a $3000 rebate right now + $500 military (Im Army Reserves) + $1000 match cash = $4500 below invoice (which I know the dealer will give me. I have a friend that I think can get me either a X-plan or EP price. So, the truck stickers for $42,400 which after invoice + rebates I would be looking at somewhere around $33,000 +/-. The problem is that I don't want to buy it if the 07's are going to have a new 5 speed tranny. The A/C Compressor is nice, but not something that will keep me from buying an 06'. However, I would wait for a better tranny. I wonder why Ford hasn't stepped up to the plate like Toyota/Dodge/Nissan with 5 speed tranny's.

If you're looking for a 5-speed transmission in a V8 truck you're not going to see it in '07, so if that's the only reason you'd consider waiting for an '07, don't worry about it because it's not going to happen.
I, and many others on this site, agree that Ford is missing the boat by not offering a manual transmission as an option, but for some reason the "suits" at Ford don't see it that way....
