First Post on a bad note, accident...

Hi all I have been visiting this website since i bought my truck in november of 2005. First thing i want to say is that even though i never posted, everyone here has been very helpful in any problems i had and helped me pick out mods from your expert advice. Thank you all! Unfortunately my term as an F150 owner came to an abrupt end early wednesday morning. Driving home from work i hit a patch of ice and lost control of my truck. I left the road hitting a tree and uprooting it doing 45 mph. My truck then came to an abrupt stop laying on its drivers side. I managed to clear out the remaining glass from moonroof and crawled out it. By this time my truck was on fire and someone put it out from a nearby home. As i was being attended to by paramedics the truck started up in flames again that reached 30 ft high. I am deeeply disturbed that this side impact caused such a big fire and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to go about contacting ford myself. My insurance company is already doing an investigation. Sorry post is so long, there are pics in my gallery... Thanks to all of you over the past 5 months for your help!

Holy heck - I am glad you are OK.

Looks like you used to have a FX4 SCAB Flareside, but it's hard to tell from the after crash pics.

Here's links to the gallery:

BTW, I almost forgot my manners...Welcome to the site.

Glad you got out of that ok, looks horrible. From the pics looks like you might have cut the fuel line. I'm not sure how the fuel gets cutoff in a situation like that. Hope everything works out for you.

My lower left back took a pretty hard hit. Having MRI's done as soon as i get it authorized by my insurance company... I'm new here and this is probably against the rules but if anyone is interested in a set of rims, the 6 inches left of the undercover on the back drivers side and a set of "smoked" headlights (cheaper than the harley ones) lemme know! All kidding aside I'm thankful i wasn't knocked unconscious or i may not be here today. Truck engulfed in flames very fast...

Good luck with the MRI, I can't imagine watching my truck go up.

Not surprising that it caught fire as the fuel tank and lines are on that side! Glad you are ok, but rather than contacting Ford if you want to contact someone try the National Transportation Saftey Board if you have a complaint.
At least you weren't in a Jap truck, you'd be a burnt marshmellow!
Get well soon!

Salesman, "So Buffalo, you want the moonroof option?"
Buffalo, "I dunno, how much is it?"
Salesman, "Let's see...it's gadzillion dollars."

Buffalo, "hmmm............what the Hell, you only live once."

thanks for all the support guys I'll have the roast FX4 with the mango salsa sorry to say this may be my last pickup truck for awhile... i missed my expedition and i think i'm gonna lease this time, any suggestions on an SUV just a small step down from an expedition? i drove a jeep grand cherokee today and the v6, styling inside and peripheral vision were terrible... I did not realize i did not have renters insurance and need another truck asap. I run a business and do alot of shopping and having the suv made it easier on me...

It is a little smaller than an Expy, but I would strongly suggest a Subaru Forester. Easily equal in every day use to an Explorer, incredibly reliable, and if you go for the XT like Mrs. OnBelay drives, you can opt for the turbo (faster than a v6 Mustang), leather, killer stereo with a great subwoofer, and the biggest power moonroof youre likely to ever sit under!
