What's in your center console?
I got some silverware drawer dividers at Wally World and used them to divide the space in the bottom of the console into compartments. The dividers come in different widths, lengths and configurations so I linked several together and added a CD holder. Pens, pencils, Mag light, extra building keys, small first aid kit and a bunch of other stuff fit in these trays and are less easily lost. I can put other stuff on top of them and still retrieve what I need.
Nothing fancy but this has worked well for me.

Mine holds a Playstation 2(the slim one is securely fastened to the side so it doesn't take up much room), a DC outlet converter, two wireless controllers, and in the area you mentioned for kleenex, I store a few ps2 games or dvd's, 2 pens and misc junk. I was wondering if i could also stuff my girlfriend in there when she is being difficult?

As for what is in the console :

These are some drawer compartments from The Container Store, or Bed-Bath-Beyond. I have on my list of projects to make a lower level for this layout, so I can put the more unused items below. ( no condom jokes here
).This is after I get the Warn 175 AMP plugs on the front and rear for the jumper cables.

Mine's just big enough to carry my spare magazines. (not the reading kind)
Those of you with firearms in the console may want to make sure they are unloaded and the ammunition is locked in a seperate compartment. Your local law may vary, but in most states you go from "Carrying a loaded weapon in a motor vehicle" (midedemeanor) to "Concealed Weapon" (felony, lose gun ownership forever) real fast...

It is easy to lose stuff in there though, seems you just keep piling stuff in it and viola...its full. Took me five minutes the other morning just to find my dang radar detector!
GPS, mints, Sig 229 w/extra mags, Streamlight Ultra Stinger light, misc pills, Carmex, checkbook....you get the idea. You really would think Ford would have put some sort of rack or tray in these things! Wait a minute, I just found a Honda Civic I had lost in the bottom

In some localities you must declare your weapon to an LEO. In others, having a loaded weapon in your glove box and not on your person is a totally seperate offense.

I'm glad you have a permit. I thnk they're great. I also fully believe a lot of people with permits think they have a lot more latitude with the law than they do, and I don't beleive a permit will keep you from being any less dead from an AD.
