Exclamation Reverse delay, anyone else have it???

Just recently noticed that when I go from drive to reverse, there is a slight delay for the reverse to kick in... Anyone else out there notice this???

Mine was like that new. It was low on trans fluid from the factory. Easy to check it.

Not quite the same problem, but mine won't shift out of park for a few seconds after starting cold. The button on the shifter won't fully depress. I first noticed it a week ago, but it's been consistent.

To make a long story short, my truck is in getting a new tranny on warranty right now. It was doing this exact thing, it would delay going into reverse, if you gave it any throttle at all during the delay it would shudder.
Before it finally totally crapped out, I tried shifting reverse to forward and back again a couple times so I could try to figure out what it was doing before I took it in to get looked at, on the fourth time, it would clunk into reverse and then the forward gears would slip badly. When I was going forward and back, it was very slowly with hardly any throttle, I was just timing the delay before reverse would engage. It got hauled in to the dealer.

mine would delay at least 4-5 seconds before engaging, a delay is definitely not normal, I can't think of any of my past trucks with auto tranny's that had any delay at all.

Mine delays for what seems like a long time but is probably between 1~2 seconds. I have had three different dealers check it (just to be sure ). All three said that it is normal and that everything checks out.

Mine also delays going into drive from reverse but not quite as long as just going into reverse. Trans fluid might be the culprit you say Myst, huh.

Yes. It was delaying about 2 seconds, now it is immediate (or immediate enough to not notice.)
