I've not felt this on the #2 tune at all either. I had posted this somewhere else (I forget where) and another member said he had been having the identical problem and it turned out to be his Throttle body positioning sensor - it was hanging up/not registering properly at the lower throttle settings which was causing the engine to stutter - claims his dealer changed out the part and all was good again....

I tend to suspect the tuner though - since it didn't happen prior to installing the tunes and only occurs in the #3 tune....it's not the end of the world - but keep us informed of progress you make with Edge on fixing yours. I'm heistant to upgrade from my original version (that came with the tuner) since I have read that others who have - have felt a loss of performance....
It could be that the Edge amplifies an already existing problem.

These trucks are tuned so poorly from the factory, it may be covering up these problems.

With the throttle so much more responsive, these problems may have been there all along, just not as noticeable.

I don't know..........just thinking out loud.

Through my observations, I don't think that my truck was running poorly at all with the factory tune. I never noticed any stutter/miss with the factory tune. In fact, after I found the problem, I went back to the factory to see if your theory might be true, but it ran perfect.

Yeah, I don't think it's a factory thing, but I don't mean the factory tune makes the truck run poorly, either.

But there is a difference in the Edge vs. Stock tune, or else why bother.....right?

My point I was trying to make is, the stutter/miss may be there, but the factory tune is covering it up. Ford "De-Tuned" the truck so far as to cover up the little problems that we find when tuning them to the upper end.

Ford tunes the truck so the throttle response is so lazy that you don't run into the troubles we are having with it tuned right at the crisp edge.

Why would Ford put these truck on the street with such a bad factory tune?

Again, I'm just thinking out loud, and have no way to determine if the problem is Edge related, or just an existing problem that is enhanced with the Edge.

My unit has a problem on level 3. The conditions are as follows: With a very light foot on the throttle and crusing about 50 MPH, the truck seems like it miss fires or stutters. This condition seems to be exagerated during a rough road surface, but is not needed. This is only with the level 3 program.

I have tried numerous things to try and correct or isolate the problem, including swaping with a friends unit, but with no sucess. Bill from Edge has been notified of the situation. I plan to be more agressive on here about my problem, which has been told to Bill about 6 weeks ago now.

Anyone else with this condition may want to post it here.

I have a similar problem, when cruising around 40-50 MPH at light throttle, it seems to buck and jerk with just a little variance of throttle.

I also have a problem, with the truck stumbling, missing, hesitating while decelerating to a stop. When I finally stop. The truck wants to die, and idles rough. A restart usually solves the problem. I thought it might be a problem with the truck, but it still does it even after a re flash at the dealer, and everything else checks out OK.

I sure hope Edge can fix this, I bought the Edge to use the Level 3 tune, but get scared everytime I need to slow down.

hey ...I just installed mine tonight not even a hour ago for the first time right out of the box ... installed it at my brothers house 5 miles away from me ... I was very impressed with the power had it set on level 3 ... I was half way home and was cruising around 50 mph and it stated to miss fire or stutter so I gave it gas and tried to duplicate it again aound 50 mph but it did not happen again ...I called the edge technical support and got the answer machine after hours ... so what sould i do next ? please someone pass on the info to help a fellow f150 brother in need .

to help out on this ... it's not the truck at all ...it only happens after I installed the edge tonight ... I have a 2005 f150 fx4 supercab with only 9000 miles on it that I bought brand new in last August ...so it is the edge ...should I keep it plugged in or should i unplug it ?

Exactly.....

Lets all keep on Edge to give us our money's worth. I really dont want to visit every Chevy, Dodge & Ford forum to tell everyone what kind of product to expect and their customer service.

Okay...I can tell you that Bill was in Indianapolis last week, so he JUST got back. Also, I found out that there SHOULD be an update by tomorrow to hopefully resolve some of the problems some of you 5.4L guys are having. ALSO, it should resolve the tire size/gear ratio issue that there has been.

This is really weird.

Some report the problem is still there, and others report the problem is now fixed.........and some report absolutely no problems, ever.

This must be tied to certain hex code families, or some other commonality, as to why it only effects some, and not all.

WOW - just jumped back into this thread....I wonder if some are saying Edge's fix has worked because this is an intermittent issue at best. I have (as stated above) the same issue - but it is happens only 50% of the time....guess I'm going to have to call Edge too.
