How do you guys carry oversize spare??

I've been looking around on the net and there doesn't seem to be many options. the Tire gate looks promising but it's damn near a grand. Pockets running low after all of the previous mods. Would like something that doesn't take up the whole bed but if it has too, oh well. My spare won't fit under and if I just leave it in the bed, it will be gone in a day or so. Any suggetions??

I aint got no spare. I asked the people who installed my lift and they said you could put the smaller spare on only if you are not going far. Other than that get it towed. That would be one crazy ride with the smaller wheel. It would like teter toter.

I was also told you could go for a short distance but don't put it on an axel with a limited slip because you can tear it up. Don't know if it is true or not but I didn't want to chance it so I bought a matching 5th wheel and tire. Kind of decorative sitting at an angle in the bed but there goes any storage.

You should be able to fit your new rim and tire in the stock location for the spare. You new tire are about 33.8" compared to your stocks around 31.6" that's just over 2" diference. there is that much clearance around the stock location.

That's true. The limited slip uses clutches that try to hold the left and right axles together so they both spin at the same time. They do slip though because they have to; when you make a right turn the tires on the left side turn more than the ones on the right and your limited slip is slipping to allow this. However a turn only lasts a few seconds if that. If you were to put two different size tires on the same axle they would be turning at different speeds the entire time the vehicle was driving and would almost for sure do damage to the limited slip.

Most likely you wouldn't know about the damage. Your limited slip clutches would just wear out and it wouldn't work anymore, but probably 99% of people would never even notice this. It would be just like having a open differential AKA non-limited slip.

or buy a flat fix kit ( sticky sticker w/ tool) and air compress so you wont have to worry about change the flat tire unless if its badly damage to it.

I bought larger tires, I still have the orginal spare and Limited Slip.

The way around the problem is the spare goes on the front no matter what.
If this means I have to change two tires, so be it.

If a rear tire goes down, put the spare on the front then move the front to the flat.

Do not....
Change the rear flat for the spare
put the flat on the front
change the front for the spare
change the spare for the flat you moved to the front.....

...thought I should spell that out.

Do you think a 37 would fit under there?

I had my 35" 12.50" front right tire come off the wheel while mudding with my 2500hd. I just put on my stock spare to get back to the house on the farm. I got a friend of mine to take me to the tire shop to get it fixed. BTW i had to drive on some pavement to get back and as I picked up speed the truck started shaking really bad. It felt fine off the pavement. So if you have to do this, don't drive far and drive slow.

Thats right! A small compressor = $35 + $5 tire repair kit = $40 and your safe.

I think so. If you don't have a hitch itwill for sure. I have a hidden hitch and their is probably 1" of room at the smallest point. So that would mean a 37" would fit but it would be a tight sqeeze.
