Fabtech 6" Installed, LOSING CV BEARINGS!
#16
Ok, I just called a place called Axle Plus and they have the entire halfshaft available for $115 or so, I just hope this is the problem. I'm going to get out there and disassemble it soon to make sure (lack of tools makes this a REAL headache) but I might just buy some cv joint grease and reassemble it myself, doesn't look too hard in the directions I was sent (thanks again). Like I mentioned in the other thread, above 5mph I get a very harsh grinding and cackling from the front.

^ and this sound is with your vaccum lines hooked up correct?
When you drive does your front driveshaft still spin?
Before you rip everything apart have you checked yout tools to make sure the bearings are not from a tool? I would think that you would see 12 bearings rolling around on the floor when you were installing the lift if they came from the halfshafts. But mabey not...
Theres only 1 way to find out... Tear it back down...

J'....If I remember right, in one of your pictures I seen you had a "creeper" rolling around your garage floor. Check the wheels on that thing. 1/4" bearings would fit perfect in those wheels. I cant see where they would be worth a damn in the truck. Its just a thought..go check out that creeper

DAMN...I was hoping for that 24 pack.
Well, I wish I could offer some more help bro, but I cant. I've never done what you just did. So when the day comes that I lift mine, I'm gonna have your phone number on hand at all times.
Hope you get it figured out and fixed soon. It looks awesome already, but its gonna be a beast once the new rims and tires are on. Good luck man, you rock

You're making my day Baja, definitely deserve some credit for all the help, definitely stood out and if there was a helpful award on this site, that honor is yours. Would you settle for a cookie? However, those ***** still look bigger than 1/4" in diameter, and thats on a vw van. Maybe we just have small bearings, who knows, I just thought I had bigger ***** than that.
Thanks Brew
