kick pannels

Dose anybody have those kick pannels where you can put some speakers in there for our trucks? If so i have a question, i was looking at where it would go on the drivers side door and thats where the lever is for the hood.....how would that work? If you dont have them but have info on this please add your input.

I did a lot of looking for the same kick panels without finding any. Each source I looked at said not available for our vehicles. Let me know if you find any.

They are available and someone on here has them. They post sometimes. There truck is on cardomain and the panels fit good, but the color is pretty off. They are the Q-logic kick panels if I remember correectly.

I'll look around and see if I can find his user name.

Q-form has them. No pictures on their site. You can buy them off e-bay. There have been several posts on this site showing how they look installed.

I don't know if you have to bend the e-brake a little, or how you get to the fuse box after you put them in. They have yet to post the instructions on their site.

Price seems to be about 135 shipped from several places.

I have them. They look a lot better than the pics. The left one matches perfect but, the right one, at least in my truck is a little off. But, it is the factory panel that looks a little different. You can see them here:

I got them here:

I bought my Q Custom from him as well and he made me a great deal on both items. I installed them myself. Very easy. And no, you do not have to modify the e-brake. They slip over it. Tight fit but, no modification is needed. Cut holes for the speakers and you are done.

For what its worth I had these in both the Dodge Rams I had and loved them...BUT I cant see the advantage of them for our trucks since we already have a place in the door for a set of component speakers. Do you plan to have two sets of front speakers or are you going to totally replace the door speakers? Two sets of fronts wouldn't be a very good idea IMO. I would say since these are "aimed" toward the passengers they have better imaging but then I would also have to say being they are so much lower they wouldn't. I guess you could put some mid-subs in the door and have your components in the kick panels...that would be a pretty decent set up I guess.

If we didn't have places in the door for both a mid and a tweeter the panels would be a no brainer, but I just can't justify them as having any advantage myself.

RamSS/T, you make good points and I don't know what nuclearthreat54 wants them for, but I was thinking about them for a pair of 6.25 woofers.
My present setup has a single 8 inch woofer sitting behind the passenger seat. Enough for my little regular cab, even with a small amp. A pair of 6 inchers in the kick panels and I could change my crossover settings in my Kenwood Z910DVD to use the Pioneers in my doors as just mids.

I think/hope two 6.25 units would give me enough bass to eliminate the box behind the seat.

I agree about the imaging, the door speakers are a touch too low already. Even with higher mounted tweeters my 'sound stage' seems to be about the level of the A/C controls. I would like it about the level of the top of the headunit.

just make ur own. every brand of driver will sound different at different angles. only way to find out is to try yours in different locations and angles. there are many tutorials on audio sites about building kickpanels. its rather simple.

Chris the only thing about using them for a woofer is that they are completely open in the back. I guess you could seal them off but there would be next to no air space in them. With it just having an open back you would get very little bass from a set of 6.25 woofers in them. Thats why I said you could put the woofer in the door (the door itself would act as an enclosure) and then put your mids in the kick panels. Of course you might be able to go with a set of free air woofers in them...that might work.

RamSS/T, I am sure you are right about that. I have never actually got my hands on the Q-Forms to look them over.
I will probably pass on the Q-Forms, even though they look totally cool.

I might consider just putting a couple woofers in the rear doors. I know the door is not the best place for a woofer, but mine are sound deadend outer skin and inner skin. So maybe there wouldn't be too much rattle. On the reg cab the window is fixed so there is less to make noise in there.
I'm just using the Pioneers back there as fill, and really on a reg cab two front speakers would probably be plenty.

Wish there was a better small woofer to put back there. I like and need the space so I don't want a huge sub box. Even the small 8 uses up too much real estate. Maybe a flat down firing box might work.
