Speaking from someone who used to think that imaging would be worsened with kick panel speakers, let me tell you that imaging is actually improved due to the more equidistant placement of the speakers to the listeners ears. Granted in these truck the image would be more centered but would be lower. It would need to be raised with something similiar to an upstage kit from CDT:
http://cdtaudio.com/stagefront_upstage_systems.htm. Of course custom kick panel with proper placement is also necessary. The ones you get from Q-forms are functional, but every speaker is a little different and a true custom kick panel solution would offer the best sound.

Unfortunately for me, I have neither the time, money or need to spend getting the perfect setup for my daily driver truck.

For what it's worth, I have been installing audio systems for 20 years. Mostly my own stuff. This is my first set of Q logic kicks. I was skeptical about them from the beginning. You would have to hear them to believe them. With my Rainbow comps, they sound awesome. The imaging and soundstage are excellent.

Pretty much the same sound as from the driver's seat. Not much difference.
