Awful starter grind!

My rig - 2004 4x4 XLT Screw.

You know the sound a starter makes on a vehicle if you try to start it when it's already running? My truck has done that twice in a month - but it makes the noise when the truck ISN'T already running.

Anyone else?

Mine did that a couple times too and I found that it was my ignitions switch was sticking. I just sprayed a little wd-40 in it and so far so good.

Alright, thanks for the info! So, help out an I/T geek out - where would the ignition switch be?

That place where you put the key....LOL .....
When mine was acting up when I turned the key it would stick forward a little bit instead of dropping back into place causing the starter to grind. Good luck
