Ok, know for the details.

First, I have never installed a lift kit before of this caliber. Rancho's instructions are TOP NOTCH and I can honestly say could not be much better. All parts are clearly marked with part numbers and hardware is in marked bags. All of this is refered to in the instructions by part number making it all a breeze. No questions arose AT ALL in the installation. It took about 14 hours due to the lack of installation experience, a lot of smoke, and beer breaks. Time spent wrenching I would say was around 10 hours.

Second, I got exactly 4" of lift from the kit, no more no less. My truck did not have the factory rear to front rake that others have so this kit left that alone. I have a 1" difference from rear to front. I like it that way due to trailering and loading heavy stuff in my bed.

I honestly don't have any tips that aren't covered in the directions. Thats how good they are. Matt, the guy that helped me has been wrenching all his life and just couldn't believe the quality, fit, finish, and instructions being so spot on.

I would not do this kit with out a complete air impact tool set-up. It just makes things too easy for tear down and installation. If you do, which it can be done, with air tools allow yourself another 8 hours.

I can't think of much more. I am so darn impressed with the shocks, kit, and ride I just couldn't recomend another kit personally. I know some want more lift but I have a big desire for function over form. So this Rancho kit will give me a safe and reliable lift that is plenty for my needs. Tires and rims should be installed by weeks end.

I actually bought it off a guy on E-bay. There is about 2400 dollars in lift kit and shocks. I paid 1375 for all of it. I think if you just get the kit and the regular 9000 shocks you would pay around 1800. I also have the in-cab controller yet to be installed for the shocks. I got a skid plate with the kit but it totally won't fit this application. It will be for sale once I determine what vehicle it goes on.

Look great. I really like the Rancho kit. If I ever go with a lift that will definitely be my choice. For the most part it's the only one that doesn't give your truck a case of sag-***. Awesome job!

 

That Sag is the look most are going for. The real off roaders. Those who don't want it are wannabees. I can easily say that i'm one of them because my lifted truck is merely for show.

 

Looks good man, you got that kit for a steal... It has reservoir shocks in the rear... At kleast you were able to get the job done unlike someone else...

Who had install problems?

Silver, are you saying thay "true offroad types" want the sag. Because, I have been offroading a lot and seen a lot of offroad trucks and the rear sag could only be beneficial for high speed desert type offroading. Other wise it's just a different style no better or worse functionality what so ever. The guys I offroad with would not want the visibility problems it incurrs. But this is trail, rock, and mud I am talking about.
