Husky Mudflaps

Just finished installing mudflaps on the rear of 06 fx4.The huskys fit almost as bad as the factory ones on the 06.Did they change the curvature slightly of the wheel flares on the 06.Those of you that put them on the rear, how many holes did you drill, did you drill two and use two of the existing factory holes. ( And yes i do have the right ones).

I have a Lariat, and I had to drill just one hole, just thru the fender moulding, the hole was already thru the metal. The only problem I had was Ford must have changed the 6.5 bed and the place on the bottom facing up shows a push pin in the directions, but on my truck there is a bolt that goes thru a speedclip that holds a support rod that runs from the bed to the bottom of the fender. I looked at my dads 05 Lariat and he doesn't have that bar and bolt, just the push pin they show in the directions. My problem was that the bolt that came out had a 3/4 inch washer on it and it wouldn't fit in the mudflap, so I had to go find some stainless bolts to use instead. I hate when the change things up, but don't make any change in the directions.

I just cut a V into the washer on the factory bolt, bent it off the bolt ( retaining type washer ) and then used a #6 or #8 SS washer on it. Didn't know what the threads were on the factory one, and did not jsut want to cross thread a SAE bolt into the Metric nut welded on the brace.

For the question about how many holes, I just removed the push pins, and used the quick nuts, and used the bolts with them. No additonal holes. I did not crank the snot out of them, and they lined up pretty good ( better then the husky's did on my '01 SCrew ).
