Who's got traction bars?

I've been getting wheel hop on WOT launches since I put in my 4.10's..

I've decided I need some traction bars because Im better safe than sorry..

Where can I get some that bolt right up? I dont want to have to drill too many hols to bolt them on. Fully boxed frame.. dont really wanna drill through it.

Thanks..

Khendrix

screw2004.. I know you know somthing about this.. chime in man!

Lakewood is a reputable company and well known for their traction bars. I'm not sure if they make them for the new F-150's though.

Summit sells their products and their web page is www.lakewood-industries.com

Good luck.

If you are lowered try justbaggit.com and if you are stock or lifted then pro comp makes a set and so does superlifts. There are pictures of the latter two in my other vehicles gallery.

Pro Comp Traction Bars on my truck. I have been dealing with a squeky leaf spring setup so I temporarily took them off. Wheel hop is present. Today I will be putting them back on. I am tired of feeling the hop when my lockers engage under WOT.

The installation can be a little bit of a pain in the keester. You have to drill a couple of holes in the frame, then slide the wire/nut combo in and get it aligned with the bolt for the front bracket; but, with patience it will get done.

Good Luck.

yep. I've been waiting for some good weather up here to get out and update the pics. My signature has an old picture before the 6" Pro Comp Lift, the Gears, traction bars, etc (it does have the body lift and 3" Skyjacker in the pic). Within the next couple of weeks, I'll get them updated just before we head to FLA for a couple of weeks.

The leaf springs on the new trucks are wider, so those won't work. Be sure to let me know what you find out, because I'm gonna need some too.

Wider than what? The 04 leaf springs are 3". And. The Pro comp Traction bars connect under the rear axle using the u-bolts and to a mount attached to the frame on each side. What exactly does the width of the leaf springs have to do with mounting the Traction Bars ?

This is/was my thought..

You could get a piece of Chrome-moly steel with and "U" bracket on one end... Attach that end to the bottom shock mount... then attach the other end to the frame..

Im looking for somthing like this.. Somthing low profile because my truck is lowered. I have researched the crap outta this and have come up empty.. called a couple places on the net and nothing.

I dont know if the Pro Comp bars will fit because....
1. I have lowered my truck using a flip kit in the rear..
2. The procomp bars are for lifted trucks only? I think? Why?

Look at the link in the second post. Those say they work on 97-03 trucks and bolt over the leaf springs. The leaves on the 04+ trucks are wider, which means the u-bolts used to attach those traction bars won't fit over the leaves.

Using the shock mounts as a base for a traction bar isn't a good idea, unless you were to really reinforce them. They just aren't setup for withstanding the kind of forces they would see with a traction bar mounted to them.

Surely someone out there makes a traction bar for a lowered F150. I'll do some searching and ask around to see what I can come up with.

After a little more thought, these could be easily modified to fit an 04+ F150 if you have access to a welder. It should just be a matter of welding on a wider mount, and getting some 3" wide u-bolts bent up. I'll have to think on this a little more before I spend $100 to experiment, but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Now since you (khendrix2374) are running a flip kit in the rear, this may require more modification than for someone with the stock suspension configuration.
