My truck is an XL and does have the cupholder under the radio. My cupholder is located on the hump.
This is the correct PIE adapter for direct wire hook-ups on our trucks:

There are are cheaper places to buy them on the net. I have seen them for about $86.00 several places.

I put an XM Roady in my dads 05 Lariat. I wound up mounting it in the overhead bin (he listens to channel 10 95% of the time so changing the channels wasnt a real issue). The XM Roady has a built in FM modulator and we just used that. It sounds just fine on a factory system but may want to upgrade to a direct connect if you are very picky (like I would be), but my dad is perfectly happy with it.

I am expecting my truck to be delivered within the next week. Here is what I bought to mount a MySkyFi.

Don't use an FM modulator, they are junk. You will be amazed with the sound difference by using a PIE!
This is a good supplier:

I mounted mine to the area where my cig lighter was. The antennea is mounted on my roof next to the drivers side A pillar. Just ran the cabling under the dash and up under the weather stripping to the roof.
