Stock radio question

I have a 2004 f150 supercew. I recently installed new pioneer speakers and they sound amazing with the stock system ( non audiophile) .. I was wondering how a sub would sound hooked up to stock a head unit. Has anyone does this. Im looking to runa a kx 600.1 amp to a rockford hx2 sub. Thanks

I think you should get a head unit or a amp if any thing for the sub.

They can wire up the stuff from the steering wheel to the headunit at like Best Buy or whatever.

I'm pretty sure you can do it, but it won't sound as good as if you had an aftermarket headunit.

It will hit hard depending, if you get a good sub and good amp, or I'm getting 2 channel amp and 2 10s..

Yes it will work. It will sound good too. Just make sure you get an amp designed for a subwoofer. I install stereos for a living and have done it many times with awesome results. Oh ya and you can make your steering wheel controls work with an aftermarket headunit too. You will need a pac-swix to make it work.

It will sound just fine... I have the stock head unit, and I am running 2 12's. The only difference between the stock head unit, is that you can not tweak the setting's like you can on an aftermarket HU...

you have to run a line level converter, i did this for a while and it sounded like crap/didnt work all the time. so i bought a $175 HU. it also fixed my fm modulation crap for my ipod
