Hows the trim levels go after Lariat?? in class order?

I can't seem to find out exactly what order the trim levels go after Lariat?..

I know it starts out as..

--XL
--STX
--XLT
--FX4
--LARIAT

then...

does it go for the top of the line models after Lariat..

--Lightning
--King Ranch
--then "Harley Davidson" being on top of the line? Or is King Ranch the highest class you can get?

Well, it depends how you classify them as "best." Are you going purely off of base price? If so, it gets tricky... but if you go to Ford.com they have them in some form of order.

I would agree with the way Ford has them listed with one exception; I think Lariat should be considered "higher" than FX4. I believe Ford has FX4 listed higher than Lariat because of the fact that FX4's standard 4X4 makes the base price higher than a base 4X2 Lariat.

Here's my opinion of order:
XL
STX
XLT
FX4
LARIAT
HARLEY DAVIDSON
KING RANCH

However I'd prefer a FX4, Lariat, Harley, or even a XLT over a King Ranch.

I want to know whats the top of the line modles in class. Like which trim level has more to offer then the other. for an example "King Ranch has more to offer then Lariat"

does the HD come after King Ranch in terms of more extra's, and where does the Lightning fall under?

If you look on page 27 of the 2006 brochure you'll see that the Harley and the King Ranch are in fact Lariat's with additional features. Actually I wouldn't even say "additional" features... just different features. The only feature that I think is additional is the power folding side mirrors on King Ranch.

The available Luxury package for the FX4 throws the whole order out of whack, since now you can option out an FX4 with the stuff that comes standard or is an option on the Lariat.

Almost, you still can't get the MESSAGE CENTER in a FX4 which is the only other thing I would have wanted in a FX4.

There are a few other little things like garage door opener built into visors, lighted visor mirrors, F-150 badges that say Lariat and none for FX4... etc. very minor details.

I wanted a FX4 with the Message Center, painted wheel-lip moldings, and FX4 black heated seats, but I settled for a FX4 w/ the Luxury Package.

This is true, the Lariat has a few more gadgets in the interior than the FX4 so it does class a little higher. And this is comming from a proud FX4 owner so.........

The Lightning falls under the "no longer available" class.

To be honest you have to put the LT in there somewhere. It is an F150 new model, don't care what the badge says.
They are nice, but dang, they got a lot of bling bling on them.

They've also the price tag to go along with that bling.

Where do the higher end XLT's fall? You know the ones with the chrome package and the upgraded leather interior. And how about the lower end FX4's. Personally I don't think they're much more than an XLT with a bigger, badder 4WD package. I think trying to class all the trucks is going to cause someone some headaches. There are just entirely too many ways to configure these trucks.
