Suede headliner with overhead storage?

Does anyone know if it would be possible to do a suede headliner with the overhead storage. I could have sworn I read somewhere that the overhead rails are permanently attached to the headliner, which would make installing the suede rather difficult.

Does anyone know if you can remove the rails?

I would think that when you took the headliner out you should be able to take the rails off.

you can remove the rail system.
removing the front and rear consoles will reveal screws attaching the rails.
once they are removed, you slide the rails forward about 1" and then they drop down.

to reinstall will require dropping the headliner ( which you would do if recovering with suede.) because there are "butterfly" clips keeping the rail tight to the headliner down the length of the rail. these need to be held on the backside to push them back into the rail.

hope this helps. and keep us posted on your project
