Anyone have HID Glare Solved (not projectors)
Well I finally upgraded my trucks lights to a h13 6000k HID system which is a white light with a hint of blue. My night vision now is much improved but now I blind oncoming cars. Will tilting my bulbs down help with this problem. I already know that out housings are not made for HID and I just didnt want to get one of those JDM looking projector sets for my truck.
I am just looking for sugestions on how to limit some of the glare. Please dont tell me I told you so as I know that by now Anyway thanks for all and any replies.
Chris
P.S. worst case I will just have to go back to OEM setup for now.
Btw..is the an adjusting screw on my truck 2005 F150 for tilting or aiming the headlight down.

Another option is to take a small piece of metal and put it just below the bulb so it basically blocks the light from reaching the lower part of the reflector.
Something like this (I already wrote this company and they do not make this for the H13 bulb, but this should give you an idea to make your own):

I remember reading an article where a kid took a hairspray can and chopped it up and used that metal to make the shield. His before and after pictures were pretty good. Here is some more info:

I got an equipment violation one time - for a tinted license plate and my tailight guards (cop said it was illegal to have the little bars going across the light - said it blocked light output). My thinking was that if you put a pencil in front of a headlight, will it reduce your visibility? Anyway, sometimes cops will give you a "fix-it" ticket meaning you have a certain period of time to correct the issue and bring it back to the police station so they can verify you fixed it and then the ticket is gone. In my case, the ticket was $74.
I would assume the cop would give you a flat out ticket since the glare is considered dangerous. I doubt the cop would let you go because he thinks your lights are "pimp." So if that day comes, don't expect the cop to be very nice.
