Leaking 3rd light?

I done a search on this and found alot of interesting questions and answers. My question is how many of you guys with the 05 models are having your 3rd brake light leak. I Don't want to take mine of to seal it if I don't have to. Mine is not leaking now but I'm afraid if I take it off to seal it it will start a leak. What's your opinion on this.

Depending on your build date....the 2005's should have come with the replacement seal, which is bigger than the 2004 seal. I have an '04 that leaks....but only with a jet of water.

I ran my XM antenna out thru the third tail light of my 2005 Screw. Was worried about it not sealing back up and everything that I read here made me even more uncomfortable. I pulled the light last week and ran a clear bead of silicone around the entire light gasket, two car washes and some freezing rain still no leaks.

I found this interesting. I bought a oem 3rd brake light off ebay to tint it first thing I noticed when I got it was the seal. It just didn't look right. Looked as if it shrunk. Anyhow, I did the tinting. I took the oem light off my truck and the underside was different, mine was black and had a beefier gasket. The ebay light was grayish/tannish. I put some weatherstripping on the truck just in case. The weird thing was the lights didn't seem to snap in place firmly. All said and done neither of the two leaked, so if you have a leaker just seal it with silicone or weatherstripping.
