Painting Headlight Interior

Ok well here it goes! I like the Harley black lights but I am thinking of painting the interior of the headlights. I think it would be really cool and would give the front that new Corvette look. I have a silver Screw and I think it would completely change the look of the front end... I am going to try to do it.... I was wondering what everyone thought, as well as if they have any recommendations about getting the light assemblies apart…. I think I might have to bake them, if they are glued…

I think it's a cool idea. I have no experience with this sort of thing and I don't know how hot the headlights get. I don't know what effect if any will the heat have on the paint. Just something to think about.

I think it could look good on the right colored truck. I don't know if the effect will be as noticable on a silver truck though. Maybe a photoshop image would help.

I think it's a great idea, but you're going to have one heckuva time trying to open them up. I tried everything I could to open up a spare third brake light. Baked it, used a sharp blade, and a hot blade. NO luck, just gave up. Your best option may be to buy a set of the Depo Harleys and try to open those. Looks like Ford used rocket cement on their lenses where Depo looked to use a black silicone. I saw FX&Excursions OEM headlights he cut open with a Dremel. The paint job was great but he admitted to hackin them up a good bit cutting them. Another plus to gettin an extra set is if you screw something up you'll have an extra pair to fall back on. If you don't screw em up then sell your OEMs. Best of luck getting them open and if you figure out a good way to open, please post it!

I did this to the lights on my old honda civic. Came out great but it was ricey and I would never do it to my truck.
