Unhappy My 2005 5.4 Lariat is shuttering!

Hi to all my first post here, well I just wanted to see if you guys had any Ideas, I own a 05 5.4 4x4 Lariat SCrew 3.73, my only mods on it are Airaid Intake, flowmaster exhaust and Diablo predator, It was working just fine, until for no reason it started shuttering a week ago, little by little incrementing each time more, I would notice this first on Overdrive gear going up on hills, but then it became more evident and finally yesterday it generated an error code Cilinder 7 Missfire, my questions is could the predator be causing this??? I did not do any custom tunning on it I use the default Performance Tune, I've re-programmed the original tune this morning on my truck and left if in stock mode, I need to run it for a while to see if it comes back, and take it in to the dealer...would they know that I've reprogrammed my truck??? would they serve my warranty??? also what do you guys think could of caused this??? (plug, wire, coils) thank you guys!

Just from your post I would think you lost a coil/plug. Return the tune to stock.
Put the DP away at home.

Tell them that in an attempt to clear the code or to make it better, you pulled the battery cable off for five minutes. That will set the same code that returning the tune to stock will set. They may suspect a tuner, seeing your other mods, but they won't be sure unless you tell them.

I very much doubt that the tuner, or even the intake, had anything to do with a plug misfire.

MMMmm After reprogramming back to original factory tune, seems like the problem is gone... I don't feel the truck is shuttering anymore, now I don't know if it's going to take a few hundred miles to show up again but.. If I take it to the dealer they might not find anything at this point, it's not even showing any troubble codes anymore, but man I would hate to have to leave it without the tunner, tunner really helps I could feel the loss in power and responsiveness right away when I reprogram it back to stock... what should I do?? do you think I might need to retard the spark a little on the tunner due to the fact that I running 91 fuel when the Predator Performance tune is ment for 93?? I have no pinging or detonation... you guys think that might be causing the problem????? thank you!

I have had some serious pinging when using the DP on 91 octane winter gas. You need to retard it more than they say. Be sure there is no ping at all.
You hear ping by lugging/accelerating a medium amount up a slow grade or with a load. If you are hearing pinging you MUST retard the timing.
I got one tank of 91 that I think was more like 89, and trust me, the truck did not like it.

Ok... I guess that's my next step, reprogram again the DP Performance tune, and modify tune to retard the spark a bit ... to see if I notice a difference, thank you again Chris, I'll see if this helps!
