I have a 4/75 full coverage on mine and I am starting to wonder something.............I have the 3/36 on the Roush, and when that runs out, how will the extended warranty work with what I have? I know they won't cover any parts of the supercharger if it were to fail, but what about the other stuff (like transmission) that was originally covered under extended warranty? Is it null and void after 3/36???

I had one on my '92 Explorer. Head gasket went during the Extended period. I cna't remember the exact $amount #'s but I remember being happy I had the Extention. As I recall it paid for itself with that repair.

I'm not worried about the $300-$500 dollar stuff. Its the high end techno repairs that scare me. Things like the computers, electrical, 4wd components. Reading post on this forum have enlightened me to the possibilities of failures and defects.

theres not much on one of these new trucks that you're going to get fixed at a dealer for $300-$500 dollars

I got the 6yr/100 k on my '97 XLT...1st year production. Between 36,000 and 40,000 miles (just out of warranty) I replaced my engine, tranny and rear end. We're talking major $'s here...needless to say, I got the same warranty on my '06. I just get the base, because, like most every one else here, I'm mechanically inclined and actually like to tinker, so fixxing the small stuff, like switches and relays, is fine by me. Plus, the cost of the part is usually cheaper than the deductable.
Go to fordwarranties.com...best price, plus they give a further discount if you buy in a certain time frame after your inquery.

Im in the same situation...but honestly, Im thinking of going from my SCAB to a SCREW.

When I do get a SCREW, Im definately getting the extended warranty. I already had my head gasket leak and had the gasket replaced...I know that would have cost a grip already if I had no warranty. Just knowing something small like that could happen at only 26k...made me think about it even more.

If I do end up keeping my truck, Im definately considering it. So I guess when it comes down to it, my advise is a - GET IT. The second something goes bad...which we all dont wish for, but are happy when a warranty covers it...you wont be posting here saying "I should have got the warranty".

I'd buy the warranty. I sell Ford vehicles at my families dealership. If you would like I can find out what cost is on the warranty. You don't have to pay MSRP.

I'll need the following so I can find out cost.

1. What type of warranty? Name? Powertrain? Base Care, Extra Care, Premium Care?

2. Miles? 48,000-60,000-75,000-100,000

3. Time? 3yrs,4yrs,5yrs,6yrs?

4. 4x2 or 4x4

Please keep in mind I'm in MI, so the cost of certain warranties may very. At least you will have rough idea on what to offer.
I would greatly appreciate you checking pricing. Here is the information you requested.

Thank you!

Base-care

100,000

6 years

4 x 4

Current mileage: 17,600

Purchased: 07/05

I purchased the Base Care, 6 year/100,000 mile warranty with a $50.00 deductible from Troy Ford in Ohio. The cost was $1545.00.
