Wiring question for an 04 F150....

Hello, I was just wondering where everyone else tapped their remote wire for an amp to? I had it spliced into the power wire for the radio before but I didnt like it because I couldnt listen to the radio with the truck off because I could dain the battery. Basically I want it so that the amp turns on when the key is on ONLY.. Thanks

Matt

Tap it in the steering column or the fuse box on an ignition switched wire. Or wire a switch onto theb blue switched wire on your deck. Then you could shut the amp off whenever you want.

Well the new wiring harness should have a blue wire run it to your amp, the amp will come on when the unit comes on

Thanks guys.. I have another questions now.. I have the Pioneer 6800 deck and I have a 4 channel amp that I am going to use to power my components in the front and my rears in the back doors.. My problem is that the deck only has 1 pair of outputs.. and I need to use 2 pairs of outputs for my 4 channel amp.. Could I simply just use a splitter to split the 2 outputs into 4?? Or could that cause a bad signal? Thanks guys I really appreicate this..

Matt

I have also thought about putting a switch in but not really sure if I want too.. I might just do that though... I was thinking about mounting it in the coin holder. Just drill a hole through the coin holder ...
