1st oil change

has anyone found out how hard it is to change your oil filter the first time? and if so is the second oil change any easier as far as replacing the oil filter?

Yes, the second one will be easier...unless you have the same machine put on your next oil filter...I just got my truck less than a month ago so mine will be just as hard...I'm letting the dealer do the first one for me, then I'll do the rest.

The filter is a B!TCH on the first go round. I am also hoping that the second one is easier. I'll find out in about 600 mi.

yeah I had a hell of a time trying to get my first filter off...there was nothing left of the filter when I was done with it...I can't believe they put those things on that tight from the factory

If you lube the gasket, and only tighten by hand, it should come off by hand.

It's up to you, how hard you make it.

I found the right cup wrench, and it came right off.

I just let the dealer do it for $9.99. Love those on-line coupons.

I was almost in tears trying to get mine off the first time. That or it could have been a mood swing from the roids. :o
