Angry Upper Control Arms

Anybody had the upper control arms replaced on your 2004 F150? I did.

My Continental OEM tires started wearing on the inside badly at about 22,000 miles. I took it to my local Ford Dealer Service Department and there was a Service Bulletin to replace the upper control arms to correct the poroblem.

After the upper control arms were replaced, the tires started to wear excessively on the outside edge. The service department said that the alignment machine indicated that the front-end was within factory specification and there was nothing that could be done about the excessive tire wear.

Are you still under warranty because tires are covered under your 'updated' warranty.

Yes, I'm still under warranty. I've also got a 50,000 mile extended warranty but that doesn't seem to matter so far.
The local service manager doesn't seem to think my tires qualify under warranty coverage.

STX, I have noticed the same problem but only on the front driver side tire. I was thinking of taking it to the shop, I got 29K on my '04. Thanks, I'll let ya know if they replace my tire as I will ask them that.

Simple, you need to go to another dealer.
