Thumbs up Lariat fender badge in place of F150 tailgate badge - MOD DONE

Here are pics of the process:

New Badges

Original Badge

Taped off old badge for new badge alignment

Original badge removed (note tailgate holes) - took like 2 mins to remove the emblem, then had to peel off adhesive

Images continued below, could only do 4 at a time in this post

I think it looks a lot better!

I believe that there are holes in the tailgate for the badges. If the fender badges don't have pins, just align the new badge to the old one. If the pins are in the wrong position to fit on the tailgate, just lop them off and stick it on.

Thanks Big - yeah they have the pins on them, easy enough to remove though. I was just hoping that the tailgate pin holes were possibly inline with the fender badge pins, since they are the same exact length....I'm gonna go do it right now....I'll post some pics later when I'm done

Here is the rest of the pics

Tailgate and fender badge pins (note different pin location)
I opted to just take off both pins with a hacksaw blade and just align with the painters tape

Cleaned well with Alcohol wipe

Fender badge installed

Tape removed, letting 3M tape cure

DONE!

Total time 20 mins max

I had that same idea when I saw the lariat badge listed for like $20 on Ford Parts. Looks good.

I don't think so, they came from Alabama - Is your name Donna?

Hey, thanks for all the replies, I'll be taking some pics of it back on the truck here this week. Freaking salt! Can't keep a truck clean in NY this time of year!

I just ordered one to replace the stock one that peeled on my truck. Less hassle than getting the dealer to do it IMO, and a nice subtle mod.

yes its about another half as high as just the F150 badge but it looks great! sets the Lariat off from the other tailgates

Did you move it down to compensate for the extra height? It looks really good in your pic.
