Have you considered using Advanced Search?

It looks like that second link there likely contains the info needed, thank you. I did not realize to look up BCM instead of security module, but I think either way, the link that actually relates to both the BSM and the auto lamp issue was not written until four years after my original posts, so that may be why I didn't come across it. I thought I had re-run the search more recently than that, but perhaps not. Thanks again for finding that, it's been a long time and I'd all but given up on finding the solution!

I think it was only referred to a Body Security Module (BSM) before 2005. It was changed to Vehicle Security Module (VSM) in 2005.
