No they are not supposed to do this....

This is not my first truck either. The last one I had was a 99 F150 and it was perfect and ran as smooth as glass. I wish I would've kept that truck.

I bet if you got another f150, you'd be ok. My 97 did this and alot of other things... Your 99 didn't. Its a tossup.

What year is your truck?

Its an 04.

Yeh, it is a toss up. Every now and again a bad one comes out of the factory.

I've not ruled out an 06 just yet. Who knows

Youd be good with an 06.

Ford has always had problems with 1st model year vehicles. My 97 was (and had stupid little problems) as is my 04 - problems I can live with - clunk and shutter. Theyway I drive, its amazing I don't have more problems. I have a 4 inch rancho kit too which actually helped the ride.

I am 95% happy with the truck.

Get an 06. If you like your truck, minus the problems, stick with it.

Thats what i'm thinking. I love my truck, and theres not another one out there I would want to drive right now. I just need to find the right truck for the right deal. Basically I need a good trade in number since I get D-Plan on it.

Where are you from??

I am in Powell Ohio - Right outside Columbus. I got theX plan when I worked at Nationwide insurance (bought a ranger with it). I forget what the D-Plan is.

Good luck man.

Ah, ok...I've only met one other guy with your last name. I figured it would be pretty funny if you were his brother or something.

But yeh, I'll be getting something new hopefully soon. I'll let you know what it is.

I know you would already, but make sure you drive the new 06's for a good distance. My wife and I have a 2000 f-150 that I bought brand new in 2000. It has 85,000 miles on it and has been a great truck. We stopped at my ford dealer (Midtown Motors in Warren, PA) on Saturday and drove a new 2006, STX supercab, XLT supercab and supercrew all in 4x4. The STX and supercrew drove like dreams. The XLT vibrated so bad that it felt like the truck had a flat tire. I could not believe it. Just an FYI for guys who may think the 06's are good to go. I guess it just depends on which one you want. Midtown had about 20 F-150's on their lot. I wish I could drive everyone one of them to see how many has the dreaded vibration.

I am sad to say that we are going to look at Titan's friday night.

No matter what I buy, I will test drive as much as possible.

You can bet money on that.

Took me two months of test driving before I found mine.
Not sure why I bought I could have just continued to test drive for ever and always had a different vehicle every couple of days.

Out of all the ones I test drove 2 trucks had the clunk during turning. Both were pre 00 models. I'd hoped that they had that problem fixed....
