Guys with Brake Issues new TSB 05-21-19
I don't think so, I have an 04 Bought new in Jan 04, and I have 24K miles on it. As you can see I have a history with this shop and they know the brake trouble I have been through. I think the 1 year 12K miles is what it comes with from the factory for brakes. I could be wrong and am sure someone will correct me if not.
I had this work done last month now my brakes work great. Problem is I had out the Porterfield Kevlar pads on for dust reasons and the service manager said they will no longer fit these new calipers. They gave my pads back to me but I dont know what to do with them. I have noticed less dust with these new calipers than my original stockers so maybe I wont need the Porterfields. Question is how do I buy new pads for these new calipers if they are so different from stock? What part # would I look for?
P.S. My build date is 11/03

getting mine done this saturday, hope it gets better. my brakes weren't all THAT bad, but at highway speeds if i had to slow down quickly it felt as though the whole truck was going to fall apart.
Any newer brake TSB?
I had frequent brake problems on my 2004 F150. The pads were replaced and rotors machined three times in 18,000 miles. The last time I had it in, which was July of 2005, I asked the service manager to check TSB 04-11-26 for a more permanent solution.
Whether they used that TSB or a subsequent one, the rack was replaced along with the brakes and things have been good ever since.
The truck is back in there today for a 20,000 mile service. It actually has 22,000 miles on it, 4,000 more than when the brakes were fixed.
Imagine my surprise a few minutes ago to get a call saying the brake pads and rotors are shot and need to be replaced. And at full retail.
I thought it strange that rotors could wear out in 4,000 miles, but the service manager assures me it is normal.
I don't know how stupid she thinks I am, but I'm not buying it. I'm going back at her with TSB 05-21-19. Does any one know if there is an even newer TSB addressing brakes on the F150?
Thanks.

Hey folks, I have a 06 super crew and I´m having the same problem at high speeds on highways, when I need to stop quickly, the stering wheel starts to shakes and if a put more power to the brakes, the shakes is strong than before, so its possible than my 06 SCW have the old rotors, any one with a 06 with the same problem I have only 9.000 miles on it I need help so far I going to have service soon and I need the problem to be solve, actualy is al most impossible to drive at high speed.
soft pedal after tsb

I have an 04 screw and just had the tsb done on mine. Yes, I had the older narrow rotors. They replaced whole front brake system as described in the tsb. Drove it off the lot, & whoa, soft pedal. Drove right back in & said this is not right. Tech came out & I said I thought there was still some air in the lines, I could push the pedal (hard) nearly to the floor. He drove it around in the lot, stomping on the brakes, took it back into the service area & bled brakes some more. Came out & said they were fine, bleeding was clear fluid. But, when I got back in, the pedal was much better. Not as hard as before the tsb service but much better than before. So truth is he DID have air in the lines. Try bleeding the soft pedal and be prepared for it to take a while and use up a lot of fluid.
For what its worth, the steering wheel no longer shakes when I brake hard at speed, so I think the tsb worked for me.

Grim
My truck has a build date of 11/22/04 and bought it brand new 11/5/05 so far the only problem I have is brake dust truck has 6k on it so far. None of the other problems have showed up yet except a soft pedal compared to my old 2000 I had.
I had mine done Sat with 26,000 on it. They replaced the rotors and calipers and pads. I brought them a set of Duralast Gold ceramic pads... part # DG 1011. THey did all the work, didn't charge me a dime, installed the pads I brought them. The truck now stops on a dime and will give you 9 cents change! No more dust, and a very happy camper!
