3" Body Lift install

On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being easiest and 10 being the hardest, how difficult is it to install a Performance Accessories body lift? Also, anyone having a rough time estimation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

The installation is not that hard, the main thing is that there is a lot of labor involved to install it.

a buddy of mine that works at 4x4 specialist in Atlanta told me he would rather install two 6 inch lifts than one 3 inch body and could do them in less time. He said it was a pain in the ****, he recommends a suspension lift alternative just save up the dough. he said all the bolts have to be torqued in the cab so you have to gut the interior

Mine wasn't that hard, but the 04-06's are a completely different truck. I had to pull a couple of interior trim pieces and roll the edge of the carpet back slightly to access 6 cab bolts, but that was no big deal. I had to remove both rear seats on a friends Expy, but that wasn't too big of a deal. It took me all weekend to install mine. I hear the new F-150's are harder to install than mine however.

Like Wandell said, the new body style requires more labor and a few things need to be readjusted like the radiator etc..the body lift on the new body style is more time consuming that ur average body lifts..mines took a day and a half..hope this helps

your truck is what i want mine to look like let me ask you did you do the body lift or day and a half for shop and how much do you think you have spent so far in lift and tires. Is it still mudding practical or is it too big and heavy. I would hate to put 38's or even 40's and snap the front ifs or rear axle.

The shop had it for almost 3 days as they needed to reloated my tow package as well..its not as easy at it seems on the new body style..the truck is still practical and i go mudding..as for 40's thats a long stretch as i had some partial rubbing with 37's, but some minor modifications eliminated that problem.

He has a 6" suspension lift and a 3" body lift.

You're not fitting anything larger than a 35" with just a 3" body lift. Just wanted to make sure you knew that before ording wheels/tires. That would be a really big "Oh *****."

Thanks so much for everyone’s input. Its looking like I might not want to do the body lift as I was planning on doing it myself to save some cash. Here is the reason I was considering it…..

I have 325-65-18’s on 18x9 wheels that have a 5” back spacing. I had a shop mount the tires fully expecting to do some trimming on the lower rear part of the fender wells. He put them on and said that there was no way it would fit and that there was no way I could trim enough without getting into the body to make them fit.

Now, I’ve been told that my whole life and have made them fit one way or another. But when I got the shop he had already broke down the wheels and tires so I didn’t get to see how badly they rubbed. I already have the leveling kit in the front. Don’t remember who made it but its machined aluminum. Has anyone been able to make this size tire fit with only the leveling lift? Thanks again for your help.

i have a 2.5 leveling kit and my truck is a 4x4 don't know if yours is. I have 33" I think I could have gone with 35" with a little rubbing flex and full turns
