Need some tunning advice

How much of a benefit will I receive from purchasing a tuner and having my truck tuned to run 87 octane instead of 93? Is anyone running with a 87 tune on board and how did it pick up your pep versus the stock tune?

which tuner are you running. i'm running the superchips 1745. and running the 87 oct.. (only cuase gas is so much and i have a 35gal tank).. but the difference is night and day.. i wishi could run the 93. that was the best.. i really liked that tune.. but again,, gas

i wish i knew how to up the shift points and add pressure to the shifts. i think you can but havent got into that yet

Crstfr I don't have the tuner yet, still shopping around for the best one. I just sold my 03 COBRA last week and I used the Predator on it and really liked it but I may go a different route this time.

Are you using a canned tune or is someone tuning it for you on the dyno?

just a canned tune that came with the programmer. I didnt change any values.. i was toying with that this week, but i havent done it yet.. i need to search. Id like to raise my shift points a bit and maybe stiffen up the ****s some more.. i thought i read a thread that they did that.. not sure.. I think it was worth it!

There really is no "best" all-around tuner. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. Just make a short list of your preferences and then I'm sure more than a few people one here can relate their experiences to you.

Just don't wind up buying a tuner and then replacing it. It is usually a PIA to sell off a tuner you no longer want.

Coming from the COBRA world my opinion is the tunning device is not nearly as important as the tune itself. You can use any of the tuners, just get someone to dial it in for ya.

Are you guys hoping on the dyno to check air to fuel?

Then you would be interested in something that lends itself to heavy custom tuning. Avoid the Edge.
