Well then, you're in luck. Make sure you get the iPod cable. You can see how I installed mine in my gallery. I think the cable will work with 3rd gen iPods. Check Alpine or Crutchfield's web site to make sure. I also have a thread a couple of pages back if you want to check that out. It's all about the radio.

And to put this back on track, I say screw wasting your money on an amp. Those speakers will sound 100% better after you get a good HU. I reccomend mine. The amp in the HU is 50w x 4.
It's only $200. And I promise it's money well spent.

Although the important data is the RMS rating, which I see listed as both 16W RMS x 4 and 18W RMS x 4 (i assume the latter is correct). Other makes are well into the 20s, by comparison. However, that is plenty to push any 5x7/6x8 combo which will handle ~5-35W RMS.

Ok, so I finally made a decision and forked out the cash... I decided to get a pair of Alpine 5x7 components (SPS-571A) for the front, and stick my Pioneer 5x7's in the back. I got the Alpine MRP-F240 amp. Both the Alpine speakers & the amp are rated at 40w RMS, so they should be a good match. I'm planning on doing the install over the weekend. Hopefully, all will go well.
