Factory F150 Alarm Features...???
Factory F150 Alarm Features...???
How do you increase the shock sensitivity on the Ford factory alarm? Also, I had Ford turn off the feature that honks the horn when you press the lock/unlock button on the key fob...I was told that this also disables the alarm, is this true? I'd like this feature still disabled, but the sensitivity increased. Thanks!
Which alarm do you have? I have the Ford Deluxe. It is easy to adjust, but it is handy to have the 'cheat sheet' in your hands while you do it. You can download that info, don't remember the site, but will look it up.

is the site. download the manual and directions for whichever unit you have.
The beep or chirp when you arm has nothing to do with the alarm function.

Hey Chris,
I have a 3 button keyfob...Lock, Unlock, Panic. I'm not sure which system I have, because after looking at the systems they all have different buttons, most with 4 buttons. I tried to reprogram the shock sensor using the instructions and nothing worked. It seems like maybe I only have keyless entry and no alarm. They told me it had an audible alarm when I bought it. Is there any way to check on which system it is using the keyfob? How do you enter program mode?

I suspect you only have a keyless remote. Options for that should be in your handbook, the one that came with the truck.
You can check and make sure you don't have an alarm in seconds.
Be sure all doors are closed, and no one is around to be annoyed by your horn.
Run the drivers window down, then standing outside the truck, use the fob to lock the truck.
Wait untill the dome light goes out.
Then reach in the open window and open the door with the handle.
If no alarm goes off, you don't have an alarm.
Alternate, lock up with the fob, wait till the dome light goes out, then lower the tailgate and sit on one side of it. This will prove/disprove any motion sensor.
If you have an actual alarm you should also have an alarm light. This is NOT the one on the dash for your PATS (key based system).
