I hate where the cancel switch is with the floor shifter. I'd like it to be on the shifter lever, so I don't have to fiddle around looking for it on the bezel since sometimes when towing my trailer I flick the overdrive off for a little engine braking.

The only problem I have with it is when I have passangers in the truck and they are like "what does this do??" and press it. thats about it.

I never had a problem hitting the OD button with either '97 Mountaineer or the '05 F-150, and they both had the button on the end of the column shift. I hit it when I need to disable or re-enable it with no accidental hits.

I've never hit mine by accident (have the middle console shifter). I'd rather have it on the shift lever instead of down on the console though.

Agree 100%. Hate needing to look for the button to turn off the OD.

Can't stand it either, on the floor shifter.

I hit mine on the column ALL the time when adjusting the radio -its stupid!

My 2002 had it recessed and wasn't a problem. Also it had the light right on the lever -not on the dash. I'm thinking of machining an aluminum ring or something and gluing it to the end to 'recess' the button.

Over Drive Button

I'm forever bumping that button and turning off od. I guess it's the way I rab the column shifter but it is a problem. Like you say, you don't see that little indicator until you've driven for awhile. Doesn't help the gas milage that's for sure...

Gm's are a lot worse...whiper/washer/turn signals/cruse control/high low beam all on the turn signal, I'm surprised thiers no ON-Star on the turn signal...
