Edge Pod Mounting

For those that have already mounted their Edge Pod to their dash, what were the best locations that were found on the pod for the supplied velcro and or double sided tape. The instructions do not mention this and experience tells me that you only have one shot with these. I'm wondering what locations will give me the snuggest fit to the dash.

thanks for any replies,
chas

Use the supplied velcro, you DON'T want to roll in the dealer with that pod on your dash...even without the unit in it.. there not dumb, if they see the pod on your dash, they KNOW what it is......

As far as where to put the tape, use masking tape to hold the velcro in place on the pod and test fit to your dash....

I use the Velco but I just can't seem to get the right spot either. I think it's OK but looks like it is designed for the double stick tape..

The POD fits great without the heavy strip of Velcro.. I spotted mine by attaching the Velco with the backing still on. I untaped and exposed the corners of one side and stuck that to the pod and moved it till I got the best fit.. Still not satisfiled but it works... and the Velcro does it's job when I have to visit my dealer for my first 25K of free maint... :o After that is over I probably will use the double sided tape to get a better fit. Then I will be just doing emissions and I can leave it on the dash... probably won't have to even reprogram.. I see what happens on what I read about other owners experience.

I used the double sided tape. The velcro is too thick and it will make a gap between the dash and your pod. I put one in the front and one in the back. Both about a 1/4 inch away from the end.

It stays put without the use of either, so why would you put it on your dash? I go offroad and have never had a problem with it bouncing or even moving.

Good question. .

The guys at Edge probally sleep better at night knowing that they gave you the option.

i was really confused when they gave me 2 of each. I thought you were suppose to use them all. At first I thought the velcro was suppose to go on the edge and the pod.

i haven't used either method yet....

i am afraid either way the pod will eventually scratch my dash from the vibration and shifting over time.....

so, for now i have it just sitting there with a paper towel under it until i figure out how to mount it so it doens't scratch the dash over time...

I mounted it in the ash tray. Kind of hard to read there, but I t gives me piece of mind against thieves.

try a small dab of silicone on each side not to much though, later you can pull off and rub off the dried silicone without messing up the dash. Fits tight no gaps
