The thing you everyone needs to realize is that any design process will have some "engineered-in" problems. TSBs recognize those, and address possible repairs. They are not a guarantee that any particular vehicle will have that problem, that diagnosis, or that solution to the problem. They are simply recognition that many vehicles of a particular model have some similarities.

I understand you are familiar with a lot of these issues. I know my truck has the rolling fan noise at cold start. This really doesn’t bother me that much. What does is the noise of the clutch kicking in and out. For some reason it only does this with the A/C on. The other day I was sitting at the bank drive thru and it seemed to be kicking in and out every 30 seconds or so. My question being, is this "The normal characteristics of the truck" and does this TSB apply to this.
I'm not one to run to the dealer every time a minute issue pops up. Here again my warranty will be running by next fall and I would like to get some of these issues resolved. I feel it’s reasonable to say I paid for the right to do so.
Personally, I don't like anyone working on anything of mine except myself. I have already had a bad experience with a dealer after moving into a new location over a damn cat heat shield rattle. The dealer I bought the truck from has always taken care of me, but unfortunately it’s a 1.5 hour drive from me now. This just gives me a reason to make that trip, get to see the parents, and do some hunting and fishing. It’s just a shame how some dealers treat you like a disposable commodity with little respect or dignity.
As of right now I have a rattling cat heat shield that makes my 35K truck sound like a 73’ Datsun when I’m idling around a parking lot. The parking break mechanism rattles something terrible on rough roads. I also suffer from the notorious bang of a downshift, but I wish to eventually resolve this with the addition of an Edge.
Sorry for the rant, just aggravating none the less.

This bulletin is being re-issued to:
Inform dealers that wiper motor grease is no longer available from Ford. When dealers' existing supply of grease is exhausted, all vehicles that are inspected and found to require grease will require wiper motor replacement.
Announce the addition of Labor Operations 05S40D and 05S40E for replacement of the wiper motor that has failed due to lack of grease.
Announce parts return process for replaced wiper motors.

REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL
In some of the affected vehicles, the windshield wiper motor may have been produced without grease being applied to the output shaft gear. After a period of continuous use on the high speed setting, lack of grease on the output shaft gear may cause the gear to distort and/or fracture during operation resulting in a loss of wiper function.
SERVICE ACTION
Dealers are to inspect and determine if the wiper motor was built on the south assembly line. If the wiper motor was built on the south assembly line, dealers are to remove the wiper motor gear cover, inspect for the presence of grease on the wiper motor output shaft gear and, if necessary, apply grease if available in dealer stock (see Attachment III). Wiper Motor Grease is no longer available for ordering. Once a dealer has run out of grease, all vehicles that are inspected and found to require grease or that have failed due to a lack of grease will require motor replacement. It is expected that only a small number of wiper motors will require grease or wiper motor replacement. This service must be performed free of charge on affected vehicles that have been delivered to customers. Do not demonstrate or deliver affected vehicles that remain in your new vehicle inventory until this safety recall has been completed. Please note that if the wiper motor has failed and the wiper motor is NOT within the date codes specified in Attachment III, OR the wiper motor has failed and grease IS present, motor replacement is NOT covered under this program. In this situation, follow the guidelines in the Warranty and Policy Manual.
PLEASE NOTE:
Federal law requires dealers to complete any outstanding safety recall service before a new vehicle is delivered to the buyer or lessee. Violation of this requirement by a dealer could result in a civil penalty of up to $5,000 per vehicle. Correct all vehicles in your new vehicle inventory before delivery.
